How many like gifts?
What was the best gift you ever recieved?
How did that affect your relationship with the gift giver?
God has given many different kinds of gifts to the church!
Each gift is different, performing different purposes.
Some are functional, decorative, practical, fun
What is the worse thing for the gift giver?
The gift not to be used!
Mistreat or abuse the gift!
Take the gift for granted!
If you really like a gift you will use it, learn it, protect it, master it!
This is a misconception in the Kingdom of God.
We seem to think that anointing is enough, favor is enough, the call is enough.
If God give you a gift, you need to become a student of that gift!
Types of Gifts in the Church:
First Gift list: Service Gifts:
6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.
7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.
8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

You should find yourself working in one of these areas in the church.

Things to know about the Gift of the Spirit
God given or supernatural
No matter how much you want, God decides.
11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
God’s gift, God’s choice!
You can’t make happen
Happen in God’s time and when the need is present
I do not own the gift, AS HE WILLS
I create the atmosphere through - prepare the soil of my heart for the seed to grow:
submission
worship
sensitivity.
Why Covet to be used in the Gifts of the Spirit?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
First what is the best gift?
One that needed in the moment.
Second, why?
So that needs are met.
What is the better way?
He would tell us in the next chapter! LOVE!
Pray to be used!
6. Gift tells more about the GIVER than the receiver!

Glory of God
Never about the individual - not a matter of pride, or proof of spirituality
Prefect the Church
Build the body
Encourage the unbeliever
If it does not meet the above criteria it is NOT of God!
8. The Gifts do NOT:
Replace the written Word of God
Replace church leadership
Replace spiritual disciplines
9. The Gifts work through humility, submission and Love!
10. You as the receiver are responsible to use it correctly or you will be held accountable
You have to pray for wisdom - study the process
11. We are ONE with ONE operating system
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
Different functions, one body.
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
SO while we have many different gifting, if we do not operate in love we will damage the Kingdom!
Unity amid the diversity
12. Confession Test (what do you live)
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
You can’t be used in the Gifts and call Jesus a cursed.
We live is a spiritual world
God
Satan
Flesh
Satan will counterfeit miracles to confuse you. (If I or an angel from heaven preach any other message…)
The flesh will convince you of how special you are.
How do you know? How do you not be deceived?
Word of God
If it is of God, the Spirit of God, the Man of God, People of God will never contradict the Word of God!

13. The Gift has little to do with the receiver
When someone is used in the Gifts of the Spirit it does NOT mean:
They are spiritual
Doctrinally sound
Holy
Does not even mean they are saved
14. God gives gifts to the CHURCH for individuals to exercise
You do not own the gift
You do have to study and learn the gift - Master it!
15. All gifts operate in Love
Without love there is no value - 1 Cor 13
If it is not in love, then STOP!
16. All gifts operate in submission
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
No such things as not being able to control what God is doing…
All the time ppl feel something and blurt it out prematurely.
In the same token, ppl suppress things that he should say.
Your flesh, mind, human spirit is the filter that the Spirit of God flows through.
That is both scary and very humbling!
