Life is not simple — it’s layered, unpredictable, and for many it can be confusing.
One moment you’re celebrating, the next you’re grieving.
One season brings clarity, another brings questions.
It’s the complexity of life that both humbles us and matures us.
We live in a world where joy and pain often hold hands, and where growth sometimes looks like silence, stillness, or even setback.
The challenge isn’t just surviving the season — it’s embracing the space you're in.
Today, I want to talk to you not just about what season you're in — but about how to embrace it, learn from it, and see God’s hand in it.
I do believe that God is Sovereign
God’s sovereignty means that God has ultimate authority, power, and control over all things — in heaven and on earth. Nothing happens outside of His knowledge, permission.
Daniel 2:21 ESV
He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
I believe that God knows point A-Z
Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
“For everything there is as season.”
Everything: all aspects of life — joy, sorrow, gain, loss, birth, death, work, rest, etc.
Life Moves In Seasons
Seasons: An appointed period or predetermined stretch of time.
Think: A broader, divinely appointed phase or chapter in life (e.g., a season of grief, growth, waiting) .
Seasons are not random. They are part of God’s sovereign design
Daniel 2:21 ESV
He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
Isaiah 46:10 ESV
declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
1) Some seasons are divinely appointed.
2) Some seasons are shaped by our decisions.
Your decisions can change your season — but nothing ever surprises God.
God gives us real choices with real consequences.
This means your choices can shift the timing, intensity, or experience of your season.
God’s plan is bigger than your choices.
God designs the blueprint (sovereignty).
But you build within that design through your decisions (responsibility).
You can:
Delay a season (like Israel delaying the Promised Land by 40 years)
Enter a harder season (like David facing family chaos after his sin)
Accelerate a season (like Joseph responding faithfully in prison, preparing for promotion)
There’s a season for your relationships — some are blooming, others are ending, some are being tested, and some are being restored.
There’s a season for your emotions — moments when you feel steady and grounded, and moments when you feel unsure, overwhelmed, or searching for clarity."There’s a season for
your work and calling — times when doors are opening, and times when you're stuck in a hallway with no clear direction.
How do yo Embrace the season that you are in?
Recognize the type of Season and how did I get here?
Recognize
What kind of season is this? (Waiting? Growing? Grieving? Building?)
Don't rush past it — name it.
Proverbs 3:5 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Season of Preparation Example: David in the fields before becoming king (1 Samuel 16–17) God uses hidden places to prepare us for public purpose.
Season of Waiting Example: Abraham waiting for the promise of Isaac (Genesis 12–21) Faith is developed in the tension between promise and fulfillment.
Season of the Wilderness Examples: Israel in the desert (Numbers 14), Jesus in the wilderness (Luke 4) These seasons test your identity, obedience, and dependence on God.
Season of Rest Examples: God rested (Genesis 2:2); Jesus called the disciples to rest (Mark 6:31) A time for spiritual, emotional, and physical renewal.
Season of Testing or Refining Examples: Job’s trials (Job 1–2), 1 Peter 1:6–7 God uses hardship to shape character and deepen faith.
Season of Mourning or Loss References: Ecclesiastes 3:4; John 11 (Jesus weeping at Lazarus’s tomb) God meets us in grief and brings healing in time.
Season of Joy and Celebration Example: The prodigal son’s return (Luke 15) A time to rejoice in God’s goodness, grace, and restoration.
Season of Transition Example: Moses passing leadership to Joshua (Deuteronomy 34Joshua 1) A time of change that requires courage, clarity, and faith.
Season of Spiritual Warfare Reference: Ephesians 6:12 – “We wrestle not against flesh and blood…” A season requiring spiritual focus, prayer, and persistence.
Season of Divine Acceleration Reference: Amos 9:13 – “The plowman shall overtake the reaper…” A time when God moves quickly, opening doors and fulfilling promises rapidly.
Release Control
Embracing the season means letting go of how you thought it would be.
Trust that God is sovereign, even if the timing doesn’t make sense.
Stop trying to skip steps or speed up the process.
Remain Faithful
Galatians 6:9 ESV
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
You can grow weary in the season that you are in….
Don’t give up!
In due season you will reap!
Due: One’s own, belonging to oneself, proper, appropriate, appoint
