INTRODUCTION

Read Psalm 22:3. What does it mean that God is enthroned in our praises?
The psalmist declared that God was “enthroned” in the praises of Israel. Worship is related to demonstrating worth. By worshipping God, we are declaring His worth. When we declare His worth, we are lifting Him up and putting Him in the proper position in our lives. He is high and lifted up.
Henderson writes, “It is therefore no wonder that when we pray in tongues, through the Holy Spirit we can be glorifying Jesus.”

MAKING OUR SONG PERSONAL

How can tongues play a part in our worship?
Tongues are an intimate way that we have have communication with God.

TRUTHS ABOUT WORSHIP

Read John 14:19-26. Fill in the blanks below for the four truths that Henderson states from this account and give a brief summary of their meaning.
The first truth about worship Jesus spoke to this woman is that it is not about a location.
We don’t need the right environment to worship. It is not about lights or fog machines or any other thing. It is about simply worshipping God where we are.
A second truth about worship Jesus unveiled to this woman is that it requires revelation.
We can only truly worship God when we have a revelation of who He is.
A third truth about worship Jesus showed this woman was that God is seeking worshipers.
God desires worshipers to worship Him. When we worship Him in spirit and in truth, we are changed for the better.
The final truth I will mention that Jesus was sharing with this thirsty woman is that our worship experience should be a progressive thing.
Worship should increase in depth and intimacy in our walk with God.
