Spiritual Leadership Retreat
The desired outcome is to remind our folks that our primary work is Spiritual leadership. It is very easy to get caught up in the details of program and hard skills, so this our "soft skills" focused weekend to remind and get everyone focused on the huge privilege, responsibility, calling we have to impact kids, guests, and staff spiritually. This may simply be having them take a step closer to considering Jesus, as the majority of folks who come as guests or campers even have no church background. So, we want our session directors and all staff members to remember that the program is the means for connection, not the focus. In the past we have had people speaking who have no camp experience and people who have lots, so the focus is on what does it means to be a spiritual leader and then we can contextualize that to the camp context. There is no specific theme beyond the focus on the sacredness of all that we do in our interactions and programming with kids. Does that help?
