2 Kings 2:13-14

13 And he took up the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. 14 Then he took the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the water, saying, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” And when he had struck the water, the water was parted to the one side and to the other, and Elisha went over.

Divine Mantle

Carrying the Mantle of Jesus

Elisha was passed a Mantle from Elijah

This Mantle was the to Lead the prophets of Israel

That Weight & Responsibility now rests on Elisha

Today I want you to know there is a Divine Mantle that gets passed on to us from Jesus when we accept him as our Savior

Just as Elisha took on the challenge after Elijah, we too are called to carry forward our faith and responsibilities with diligence and commitment.

We are called to accept and wield the mantles of leadership God gives us, ensuring that we respond to His call with faithfulness and pass it on to others to sustain His mission.

I want to look at 3 components to the Mantle

1. The Significance of the Mantle

Authority

There was an authority that came with the Mantle - Split the Jordan

2 Things

I think he was imitating what he saw Elijah do

Elisha’s first miracle was Elijah’s last

Think about it - As new parent’s there’s a good chance you did what you saw

b. Testing God

Am I really the one

did you really call me

are you really going to use me

Do I really have the authority that Elijah had

Today I want you to know you have “authority” in Jesus name

there is a divine Mantle that rests on your life that comes with “Authority”

Authority to Pray - Authority lay hands on sick - Authority to cast out demons

You have authority in Jesus name!

This spiritual Mantle, Divine Mantle has has been passed down for generations

Jesus passed it to the disciples - Disciples Early church leaders - Down through

Anointing

2nd Component to The Mantle

2. Power of the Mantle

Supernatural

We see this right out of the gate - Splits the Jordan

it was a display of the supernatural Power of God upon Elisha

Bad Water and unfruitful land

2 Kings 2:21–22 “Then he went to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said, “Thus says the Lord, I have healed this water; from now on neither death nor miscarriage shall come from it.” So the water has been healed to this day, according to the word that Elisha spoke.”

There is supernatural power in the Divine Mantle you hold today

They come in the form of the:

Gifts of the Spirit

God has given us gifts

Transformation
