"WHY WE ARE HERE"

Colossians 1:15–18 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”

Colossians 1:15 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation:”

Jesus revealed God to us.

Jesus is the eternal Son of God.

Colossians 1:16 “for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.”

Jesus created all things, physical and spiritual.

All things were made for Him.

Colossians 1:17 “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Jesus holds everything together.

Hebrews 1:3 “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,”

Colossians 1:18 “He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”

Jesus is the Head of the church.

Jesus founded the church by His death and resurrection.

Jesus was the first one of us to be raised, never to die again.

Jesus must take first place in everything.

That is why we are here.
