Adam and Eve first sin

In a quiet moment of reflection, I recall a childhood mistake: breaking my mother's favorite vase. I hid the pieces under the couch, hoping she'd never find out. But guilt consumed me until I finally confessed. In Genesis, Adam and Eve hid from God after their sin, much like I hid from my mother. Sin creates a rift between us and those we love, as it did between humanity and God.
When I think of Adam and Eve, I’m reminded of how we often rationalize our choices. They had everything they needed, yet one temptation led them to sin. It’s like being at a buffet but choosing to sneak off for candy. We can have everything in Christ, yet there's a tendency within us to seek what brings guilt and distance from Him. Much like their choices, we too often choose what we shouldn't.
