Matthew 22:21Romans 13:7

They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed

Questions that both Jesus and APostle Paul were addressing: Is there a division between worldly things and God? In church I give God the respect and honour. But what about people and insititutions outside of Church?
Paul’s Letter to the Romans C. Christians and the Roman Authorities, 13:1–7

First, believers are to willingly submit to the authorities on the assumption that they are just. Second, if rulers’ authority derives from God, they must rule in a way that is consistent with God’s justice. He draws the following conclusion: ‘The important implication is that unjust authorities are not due the obedience of which Paul speaks, but rather are outside these boundaries of necessary obedience.
