Introduction 1:1-4

3rd in Group of letters called Pastoral Epistles.

To encourage and teach and guide Timothy (Ephesus) and Titus (Crete).

Left by Paul to defend against false teachers and set in place church leaders.

1 Timothy and Titus possibly written on the same day (62-64 AD).

Written during a brief time between Paul’s imprisionment.
