Theology of work

Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.””
God creates men at his image to co-work with Him on his creation. After the fall men perverted the work ant it was done for his service intend for God’s glory on his walk with him. After the fall we see Noa went back to work and got drunk with the fruit of his work. Eventually we see that the new genereations of men also were working to buil a name for themself in the tower of Babel and to setle down insted of going to poblate the earth.
it is my believe that part of God’s redemption is to bring men back to the original purpose that was tu manage or work his creation and doing it we build the kingdom of god in the present time and the kingdom of God that is about to come.
In 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” So, the life of the believers in the new testament were affirm by them providing for their relatives and household.
In Ephesians 4:28 “Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.” In this case in the church in Ephesus there were new followers of Christ Jesus that were encourage to no longer steal but to start working to provide, yes for their needs and for the needs of others. No just to work but to have honest works.
Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Mathew includes our works as part of our testimony to lead others to glorify God. This is redemption working in us. When others can see our works and because our works the glorify God.
It is our role as disciple makers to teach to the bIleavers all the teaching of the Scriptures and this includes teaching them to work making this creation productive and providing for our needs, our household and those in need. But to work in such a way that others can see and glorify God.
It is God’s call for us to continue going filling the earth proclaiming the kingdom of God.
