Luke 17:20–30 NKJV

20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” 22 Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. 24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. 25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Harry R. Truman, the caretaker of Mount St. Helens Lodge, was warned for months before the volcano erupted on May 18, 1980. Scientists and officials repeatedly urged him to evacuate as the mountain showed increasing signs of activity—earthquakes, steam explosions, and a growing bulge on its north side.

Despite these warnings, Truman refused to leave, becoming a folk hero for his defiant stance. He famously said, "The mountain will never hurt me," and insisted that Spirit Lake was his home. Tragically, when the volcano erupted, a pyroclastic flow buried his lodge under 150 feet (46 meters) of volcanic debris, and he was never found.

The explosion sent a massive plume of ash and pyroclastic flow racing down the mountain at incredible speeds. Truman's lodge was directly in the path of the destruction. The intense heat and force of the eruption obliterated everything in its path, including Truman and his lodge. Despite the dire warnings, Truman's stubbornness and attachment to his home led to his tragic end.

There is a Stubborness and Disregard to real warning that will lead to death. The news interview shows Truman with chest puffed saying the mountain will never hurt me.

Friend you are not dealing with a full deck or should i say you have a screw loose rattling around in your head if you think that standing up to a volcano is a good idea. Like it would not hurt you. Can you take fire to your chest and not get burned?

THere is a day coming where God will Judge the World for every Sin.

Some will even be surprised and to that I say I am surprised.

Should Hitler be Judged? How about the Timothy Mcveigh and Terry Nichols who Detonated a Rental truck full of explosives in front of a Federal Building that had a Daycare on the second floor?

Friend We all want justice, we all have a desire to see retribution. and ALL is not right in the world. Well The only one who can right all this wrong friend is JESUS.

Our text details the real prophecy that will take place when Jesus Comes back. Yes friend you heard right, JESUS IS COMING BACK.

And when He comes back he will not be the suffering servant, he will not be a baby in a manger. He will not be a carpenter, He will be the LORD of LORDS. and The KING of KINGS. The Holy one, THE ALPHA AND OMEGA.

He will Sit on the throne of David and Rule with the scepter in His hand and he will not be taking orders He will be Giving them.

But untill that day, people will be....

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

Our Text opens with the Pharisees asking when the Kingdom of God would Come. They were not interested in God’s Program. For Jesus says that the Kingdom of God is “within you” it is not an external force that will overthrow the oppression of Rome.

How interesting we do not see the things of God as God sees them. We have our own agenda. We have our own thoughts about how life should go. or How the kingdom should come.

But then he turns to his disciples who had an open heart, and did want to follow Gods program. Jesus Reveals what will happen to them. VS 22. He says that Dont get distracted by those saying LOOK here or THere. He gives them this key, The 2nd Coming of Jesus will be sudden and unexpected. Funny because he is telling them expect this: My second coming will be unexpected.

BUt why is it unexpected? VS. 25 The world Has rejected JESUS. Luke then Records JEsus saying what will happen. THe world will be like in the day of NOAH. WHere for a century Noah was preaching to a world that was unexpecting. He preached how Salvation could be found if people would draw near. Salvation would be secured in the ARK.

He also draws on a parallel to Noahs Flood and SOdom and Gamorrah. He says they ate, they drank, they Bought, they sold, they planted, they built VS 28

Whats wrong with those things?............. nothing............................ unless they keep you from Salvation.

Many People will not come to church because they have more important things to do. Many People will not hear the gospel when it is preached because they are late to something that will make them feel merry.

THis is the philosophy of so many, that well I just want my kids to be successful in college, or I must build

Luke 14:16–24 NKJV

16 Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ 18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ 19 And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ 20 Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ 21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’ 22 And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ 23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’ ”

Isaiah 56:12 “12 “Come,” one says, “I will bring wine, And we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; Tomorrow will be as today, And much more abundant.””

No Friend Tomorrow will not be as today, and it is not guaranteed. and Definitely not guaranteed mor abundant for those who shall not taste of Gods Supper. For those who reject the invitation that GOd has for them. To reject Christ...… OH

1 Corinthians 15:32 “32 If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!””

You better squeeze this Life like an orange if all you have is this life. Get every drop you can. You better stop listening to me now, get up and go spend all your time getting as much dopamine and good time you can because it will end faster than you think.

For Tomorrow We Die

The question was asked the old preacher about salvation and what must they do to be saved. The preacher said repent and believe the Gospel, and you will be saved..

Then another asked what about those who are lost, what did they do to be lost?

He said ...… Nothing. so what is needed to be lost? nothing, just keep going on brother. Just keep drifting

At about 11 p.m. Saturday, multiple 911 callers reported a kayaker in distress on the Willamette River, just north of the Willamette Falls.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said a witness reported the man appeared to be struggling before he jumped out of his kayak and attempted to swim away from the falls.

The man disappeared seconds later, according to the witnesses.

The sheriff’s office didn’t disclose the man’s name and only identified him as a 20-year-old from California.

Everything was good, just like in our text. He was drifting enjoying life, was not really looking for what was awaiting him.

Maybe this is you friend, just living you life with really no thought of the reality that Jesus is going to come back. Or the fact that you and I could step into eternity on our next breath.

That should make us look ahead, Jesus gives us a warning. There is a Flood Coming, There is a day coming just like when Lot was removed from the city, and like Noah was put into the Ark and GOd closed the door.

Acts 17:30–31 “30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.””

What are you going to Do About It?

It is not enough to just say in the mind, yes I agree. THe time for indecision is long past. now is the time to act.

Are you Drifting Friend?

If you are not growing closer to God, could it be possible that you are drifting?

Are your friends and family like the family of Noah? or are they stuck on the outside of the ARK?

If they are not Born again, They are stuck on the outside of the ark. they are not In christ.

Do we care?

Does it bother us that countless homes, Countless Families, Countless schools will be engulfed by Fire?

WHen the Son of perdition will show his true colors.,.. and require that EVERYONE bow to him and take the mark of the beast. Where you will not be able to buy a loaf of bread for a days wage.

Where there will be famine and pandemics, men in those days will seek death and not find it.

Friend today is a call for any able bodied man woman or child to take the opportunity set before us, to go while we yet have time.

now is the time, we dont know if we have tomorrow.
