Transcript
God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you.
I thirst for you;
my body faints for you
in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.
Explain this past week...how the hungry felt the presence of the Lord!
For he has satisfied the thirsty
and filled the hungry with good things.
In our text today, we will see two conditions of the heart that will stop the hunger for Jesus Christ.
After this, Jesus traveled in Galilee, since he did not want to travel in Judea because the Jews were trying to kill him. The Jewish Festival of Shelters was near. So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples can see your works that you are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he’s seeking public recognition. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” (For not even his brothers believed in him.)
This land, this people, this nation is hungry for revival. But it is the religious know it alls and those closest to us that want
To kill it completely!
Just a few months ago there was a revival that broke out on an university campus. 10s of thousands went and I do not know the number of those who came to a loving relationship with Christ, but I am sure it is a great number.
But there were so many in the religious community saying oh it isn’t real. They are going by feelings.
They sit back in they high backed Christian throne and judge because they were not the ones whos started it.
Oh it didn’t happen in my church so it ain’t real.
Instead of rejoicing over the hunger in the hearts of those there.
But even if it was just one soul that was saved the bible states
I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.
You want to know why we do not see a mighty move of God, it is because of the religious idiots that want kill off any movement of the Holy Spirit.
These pharsitical men and women that say if it is not how I envisioned it, it can’t be of God.
They need to stop putting God in a box and making that box their idol.
Oh the bible says we are to test every spirit...Yes, and the bible also says do not stifle the Holy Spirit.
All these people are doing is making it so everyone is scared to have any emotion in the church.
It breaks my heart cause we are made in the image of God, and the Lord is filled with emotions.
You see it throughout the bible. But they kill off any of it because they are so stuck in their own intellectual stupidity that they feel they can know the mind of God.
And in part be a god.
We need to get back to being hungry for Jesus Christ and stop trying to kill off any movement of the Holy Spirit.
The next thing that stops the hunger for Jesus Christ and stops the movement towards revival is
The unbelieving
Do you know today there is a group of people that believe that any and all movement of the Holy Spirit stopped after the Apostles died.
They want to teach the bible line by line and have it done void of any emotion or application. Cause the heart is decieteful. Yes the bible says this, but it also says that the Lord writes his laws upon my heart.
They want you to come to the Lord in a voided state.
Why cause they do not believe in the power of the Holy Spirit or the power of the Word anymore.
Now I agree, this stuff of jumping around like a Mexican jumping bean, clicking and popping like a creature from The Last of Us, or flopping around on the ground like you got ants in your pants is just attention seekers.
But what I saw this week, showed me how to believe again that true hunger can be found and the church desperately needs it.
Church do you believe that we can be hungry again? Like the church was in the bible?
Cause it starts with you and me being hungry, insatiably hungry for Jesus Christ.
