Psalm 119:121–136 ESV
121 I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors. 122 Give your servant a pledge of good; let not the insolent oppress me. 123 My eyes long for your salvation and for the fulfillment of your righteous promise. 124 Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes. 125 I am your servant; give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies! 126 It is time for the Lord to act, for your law has been broken. 127 Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold. 128 Therefore I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way. 129 Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. 130 The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. 131 I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments. 132 Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your way with those who love your name. 133 Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me. 134 Redeem me from man’s oppression, that I may keep your precepts. 135 Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes. 136 My eyes shed streams of tears, because people do not keep your law.

Those who are servants of the Lord are marked by: 121-128

The psalmist asked God to protect him from arrogant (cf. vv. 51, 69, 78, 85) oppressors and to deal with him in justice and love (vv. 121–124). He sought to motivate God to respond by explaining his loyalty as God’s servant (vv. 125–126; cf. vv. 122, 124). He added that he loved the Lord’s laws (valuing them more than gold; cf. v. 72) and hated false ways (vv. 127–128; cf. vv. 101, 104).

Here’s a set of practical tips drawn from Psalm 119:121–136 (broken into themes):
⸻
1. Live with integrity and justice (v.121–122)
“I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors.”
Tip: Make sure your actions in daily life reflect fairness and justice — in your work, family, and relationships. Stand up for what’s right, even when it’s unpopular, and trust God to be your protector.
⸻
2. Wait on God’s deliverance (v.123)
“My eyes long for your salvation and for the fulfillment of your righteous promise.”
Tip: When you’re weary or longing for change, stay anchored in God’s promises. Pray regularly, reminding yourself of His past faithfulness, even when you don’t yet see the answers.
⸻
3. Seek God’s mercy (v.124–125)
“Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes.”
Tip: Approach God humbly, asking for His mercy daily. Be teachable — read His Word with a heart ready to learn and apply it.
⸻
4. Stay faithful even when others ignore God (v.126–128)
“It is time for the Lord to act, for your law has been broken.”
Tip: Even when the culture or people around you dismiss God’s commands, remain faithful. Keep God’s Word as your standard, not popular opinion.
⸻
5. Deepen your love for God’s Word (v.129–131)
“Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.”
Tip: Cultivate a love for Scripture. Read it with excitement and wonder. Make it part of your daily rhythm — not just out of duty, but delight.
⸻
6. Ask for God’s guidance and light (v.132–135)
“Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes.”
Tip: Regularly pray for God’s favor and understanding. Before making decisions, pause and seek His wisdom. Let His Word illuminate your path.
⸻
7. Care about spiritual decline around you (v.136)
“My eyes shed streams of tears, because people do not keep your law.”
Tip: Let your heart break for the spiritual condition of your community or nation. Pray for revival, intercede for others, and let that compassion move you to action.
