Acts 13:1-3
In Baptist life, an association is “a group of churches that voluntarily join together for fellowship, encouragement and missions. Churches are the members of the association, but the association does not rule its member churches.”

What is happening here?

1. In the context of worship, fasting and prayer, God reveals His will.

God’s people are gathered.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

God’s people are expectant.

God’s people are empowered.

The age of an average pastor in America is 60 years old. The median age in the U.S. is 39.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”Matthew 9:37–38

2. In the spirit of cooperation, God’s people are sent out.

They are anointed. “God empowered.”

They are appointed. “set aside”

They are commissioned “for the work”

Pray for God to “call out the called” to His service
