Sin is A Reproach

Blessed be the name of the Soverign Lord. Spirit of Truth take preimence in this place in Jesus name .

What is sin: actions that violate the law or moral standard of God. the trangression of the law. 1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

so there has to be a moral standard to follow . the law was giving to Moses but grace and truth come by the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:17 “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

Lets expound a little and Grace and truth..

What is Grace:

The word grace Charis in greek convey favor, Kindness, an unmerrited gift, God’s undeserved mercy towards humanity Divine enablement.

Truth. Aletheia

Signifies reality,sincerity and divine truth goes beyond factual accurcy to encompass moral and spiritual truth, aligning with God’s nature

Before the Law

Even before Moses God gave specific commands to individuals. in the case of Adam and Eve . God gave them specific commands, not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:16–17 “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Conscience and Moral Awareness.

Romans 2:14–15 “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)” so even those without the written law had a enate sense of morality, as God’s law’s was written on their hearts .

in the Old Testament the peope were once govern by their Kings so its the kings responsible to lead the peope . thats why you come across certain passage where it says on king Ahab cause Israel to sin 1 Kings 16:30–31 “And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him. And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.” .

There were consequences for the people because of their ruler . god would judge that nation base on the actions of the king. lets look at this scenario where in the 2 Samuel 24:1 “And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.”

We all have sin

Through one man sin enter the world. in the case of Adam leading all to sin. cause we came from Adam Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Iniquites

Deliberate Sin, The intentional and willful disobedience of God’s commands by individuals who have knowledge of what is right and wrong. when you continue in perpetual sin , without repententance. thats a serious kind. because you intentionally sin and continue in sin.

in Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed.”

This passage speaks about Jesus ordeal for us even those who were continuing in perpetual sin he has made a way for them to be reconciled.

Reference of Sin

The Bible reference sin and iniquites in the same passage highlighting that they are different in nature. Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.” here we read a quotaion from Psalm 51:5 where King David was saying he was born in sin and shapen in iniquity highlighting the two . and the mere fact that we each one of us as came into a world of sin .

Blood of Bulls

The blood of bulls and goats couldnt save mankind , it was only and apeasement . because yearly they had to keep doing it and if they fall into any sinful act they would have to go to the priest to offer sacrifice. Hebrews 10:4 “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”

In this case the Children of Israel keeps offering blood of animals , applying works to apease sin.

The sacrificial LAMB

But here we have an High Priest in the Lord Jesus who offer Himself once and for all for the sins of men. you dont have to apply any works but your faith and believe in Jesus. Hebrews 10:9–10 “Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Reproach of Sin

Whever sin Thrive in drives away the Presence of God. for God is Holy and His Habitation is Holiness. Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: But sin is a reproach to any people.”sin brings disgrace and downfall , while Righteousness leads to honor.

Body of Sermon

Joshua 7:1 “But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel.”

in this passage we read that the anger of God was kindled upon the Children of Israel because they took the the curse things . Achan took the accursed things from jericho despite God’s command that all spoil from the city was to be destroyed or commited to the Lord’s treasury.

Sin and ignorance

People can live in sin due to ignorance . Because thay lack understnding of God’s law or unaware of the consequences of their actions. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” . Ignorance is a disease that must be cure by all cost .

Examples of Ignorance

Apostle Paul early persecution of the Christians, before his conversion. Paul then Saul persecuted Christians, believing he was serving God. 1 Timothy 1:13 “Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.”

Jesus’s Prayer on the Cross

Luke 23:34 “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” “And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.”

How to overcome Ignorance

Give yourself to learning . study to show yourself approve . 2 Timothy 2:15

Buy the truth and sell it not. Proverbs 23:23

Buy the truth, and sell it not; Also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. Knowlege is not profitable in to fools. dont waste time casting valuable pearls to swine they wont know the use of it.

Redeemer Saves

When the fullness of time has come When the Soverign Lord ready to fulfill His prophecy Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, And shall call his name Immanuel.” Galatians 4:4–5 “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoptions of sons.

Jesus came to salvage humanity to set us free. all you has to do is believe and confess Jesus as your Lord . Baptise in the name of Jesus and you shall be save . No humans works needed . It requires blood but not those of bulls and lambs.

Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at Hand.

Confess your sins ,turn back from your evil ways . change course. .broad and wide is the gate that leads to destruction and many people find it. narrow and straight is the way that leds to Eternal life. Matthew 7:13 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:” .

The passage indicates that the gate is wide and the way is broad that lesds to destruction. so its essy to find its visible its big. But the stright gate its not essily visible for its narrow. you have to be deliberate about that gate, you dont bump imto that gate by acciddent. you have to search for it.

Run To Jesus

Jesus said come unto me who are burden and heavy laden and i will give you rest. take my yoke for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

cast you cares upon Him, for HE cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Jesus is the way

There is a way that seems right unto men , but the end thereof is death.
