Dear Missouri Valley Baptist Association Search Team,
I am writing to express my heartfelt interest in serving as the Team Leader for the Missouri Valley Baptist Association. I believe God has uniquely prepared and called me to this role, and I am excited by the opportunity to serve alongside our local pastors and churches to strengthen our gospel witness in Saline and Carroll county Missouri.
Over the years, I have been deeply moved by the importance of personal relationships in ministry. The call to connect meaningfully with pastors through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and consistent communication resonates with my conviction that encouragement and accountability are foundational to healthy leadership. I have always found great joy in walking with fellow pastors, listening to their hearts, praying with them, and offering support as they shepherd their flocks.
I also sense a strong alignment with the strategic and collaborative nature of this position. Coordinating the activities of the association, reviewing events for effectiveness, and planning future initiatives are not just administrative tasks to me, but they are opportunities to seek the Lord’s guidance, to dream together with others, and to be proactive in how we engage our communities for Christ. I value thoughtful evaluation and Spirit-led vision casting, and I would count it a privilege to work alongside the Admin Team, Executive Board, and our churches in this process.
I believe that partnerships beyond our local churches are vital for kingdom impact. I am committed to staying connected with the Missouri Baptist Convention to explore resources, training, and opportunities that could benefit our pastors and churches.
Serving on the Admin Team would allow me to further steward the health and unity of the association. I view such service not as a title, but as a calling to humility, wisdom, and faithful leadership.
Ultimately, my desire to serve in this role flows from a deep love for the local church and a burden to see pastors encouraged, churches equipped, and Christ glorified in every town and community we touch. I would be honored to contribute to this mission as your next Team Leader.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
In Christ’s service,
David Slusher
