Great Job Children. I enjoy watching these programs every year. All year I get to see these kids in the hall and try to learn their names. I am not always succesful, but I try and the most interaction I have with them is when they deliver me a cupcake on their birthdays. By the way Thank you Mom’s and Dads for all those birthday cupcakes I enjoy. But I hope you understand the importance of Christian Education.
These songs that they learn the Bible verses that they hide in God’s heart will stick with them forever.
This program had a focus on the promises of God. The only way that the promises of God are going to mean something to these children is if they learn them in their mind and apply them in their heart. That is the cooperation the school and the home need to work together to achieve.
Tonight we heard some of my favorite promises.
To Joshua and Caleb two of my favorite guys in the Bible Joshua and Caleb
Have I not commanded you be strong ang courageous do not be terrified do not be discouraged for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Isaiah 43:2–3 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.
I wish they would have included the great promise from the book of Lamentations This I recall to my mind therefore I have hope Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed Because His compassions fail not There are new every morning Great is Your Faithfulness.
All of those verses are a source of encouragement when you feel like you a drowning and this life is more than you can handle.
Your children are going to face trials. You face trials, life isn’t easy. I am so glad that I have my Jesus through the good times and the bad so often I cling to those words of the apostle Paul I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I don’t think I could do very much without Him.
The greatest promise of God is His salvation. The promise that we can be free from the burden of Sin, that we can have the ever present help of the indwelling spirit and the promise of eternity in heaven with Jesus!!!! I love talking about heaven with my Savior. Have you clung to that promise. If not listen to this promise of salvation
That promise is found in Romans 10:9–10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
You know I didn’t didn’t learn these verses as an adult I learned them as children just like these children here often in musical dramas just like this one. I can even still sing many Bible verses I learned as a kid. Just ask me and I could sing many of them and there is one promise I learned in a musical drama maybe from Mrs T at age 8 that I still rock solid remember to this day from Romans 8 it says
Romans 8:38–39 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Nothing in this world can keep you from the love of Christ. Christian you need to hang on to the promises in the book be fully convinced in His promises. They are more reliable than your GPS on your phone. Just remind yourself of His promises. And say I am convinced! If you don’t know the power of God’s salvation you are missing out on the greatest gift in the world come to Jesus. just like we heard tonight no sin no problem no influence can keep you from the cross of Jesus Christ where he paid for your sins. Come find meyself Pastor LD Pastor Todd Mrs Levinus Mrs Weiss Mrs T any of our great staff and we would love to talk to you about how you can know Christ as your personal Savior. God’s promise of salvation is this simple WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED!
