God’s Masterpiece

You have talents, and you are more that your talents.

Today’s message is from the book of Ephesians 2:10. I will read the scripture.

에베소서 2:10 NIV

10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

This is the word of the lord.

[Welcome]

Good morning Power Wave and welcome to our outdoor worship here in Van Saun Park. It is great to be out in the nature and to be able to share God’s grace with you all today. Before I go on to share my short message today, let’s take this time to greet one another. “You look more like Jesus out in the nature.” Amen. That is right, as God’s creation it is great to feel God’s presence in the creation that he made. And I hope that we all see his greatness out here in what he had created.

[Sermon]

I know I always tell you all to trust in God, but man I was worried so much throughout the past week. I know we had a well needed rain for Jersey, but seeing the Rain forecast on Saturday to have 1.3 inches of rain was something big enough for me to be worried about. But God gave the well needed rain and also just enough for us to be worshipping God here.

As you guys know, I have traveled the world. I saw and experienced wonderful creations of God. The Grand Canyons in Utah. The beautiful beaches in Sydney Australia. But if you asked me, which country had the best nature, it is New Zealand by a mile. I have to be honest, the nature of US and Australia can’t compete to the mystic nature that New Zealand has.

In 2016 when I was in Sydney, my parents and I went on a trip to New Zealand. We went to a place called Rotorua which is famous for its hot springs. But I ronically, despite all the volcanic actions in the land, the place had huge trees. They had a forrest full of Giant Seqouias. They were just growing everywhere. It was like someones backyard and they were everywhere. Just seeing these trees it mesmerized me. I fell in love with the air and the vibe it was just showing. So from that point on I went around the world to see these trees. So I went to the muir woods in California. I haven’t visited the Yosemite yet, but it is on my list to visit next. But when I looked up to the Seqouia tree, I was overpowered by the size and the beauty of the tree and I know it sounds weird but I felt the presence of God. It felt as though God was looking over me. I encountered God in the trees.

This is seeing God through natural revelation. And today, I recommend once again that you all could encounter God through this way. But today, I want us to go a step further. I want us to see God through ourselves. Huh? I am not saying become a God but look into your lives and think of where God dwells.Sometimes when I see myself in the mirror I see the God who makes mistakes. Because he created me like this. Just kidding. But what our scripture is saying is this, we exists because we are created by God. Our existence is to do good thing Jesus did and because of that you are God’s masterpiece this is what God is telling us.

Let’s go back to the trees. Why was I overpowered by it? It was doing what it was created for. To bring fresh air. To bring shelter to the animals. IT was doing what it meant to do and because it was so good at it I saw God in it. So in other words if we as God’s masterpiecs do what Jesus did. Do the good that he did and live our lives as his disciples then, boy or boy, we are God’s handiwork.

That is who you are. That is who I am we are his handiwork for we do what he had created us to do. This is the identity that we need to have. I truly hope that we all could be God’s masterpiece.

Today, we send off our seniors. They are going to be with us till August, but we are going to send em off today. Let’s give them a round of applause just for getting through High school. Yeh but today, God is telling you, I now want to you to a masterpiece of your own. You might be here because your parents put you to be here. You are masterpieces for that but look, now, you need to be a masterpiece that stands on your own. And I know you are going to do so well I pray that you all stand to be that masterpiece.

I want to finish off our message. We are God’s masterpieces. Live it by doing the Good that JEsus did. Let today be a day where we see our true self as his masterpiece. Let us pray.
