Intro

Have you ever discovered something to be a fake?
Prop money story
Focus on valuable authentic Faith as our method of salvations.

Body I: Gifted Faith

Have you ever discovered something to be a fake?
Ephesians 2:1–7 “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:8–10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Share briefly at your table how you came to know about God & the Gospel
Pt. 1 Gifted Faith
Faith is given to us, revealed… It is apart of the very grace that saves us.
If Grace is the means of our salvation, Faith is the Method and they are intertwined.

Body II: Genuine Faith

In your groups see if you can work together to develop a working definition for faith.
Add Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Based on this definition what are some examples of faith.
From your examples of faith how do you interact with those things?
Faith requires not only for it to be given but it to be grasped as well. That you would put your hope in him
Pt 2: Genuine Faith
1 Peter 1:20–21 “He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”
AKA Personal Faith
Share in your groups ways your faith is personal to you.
How has your faith grown personally or genuinely?

Body III: Guiding Faith

Interactions and Experiences…
James 2:14–26

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

Just as a living person produces CO2
Faith produces works
Pt: 3
Discuss in your group examples of things people are band wagoners for?
What makes them band wagoners?
Faith is genuine and guiding and can not be faked. We are not to be band wagoner christians….

Closing

Prop Money
the value is given and set
“It is not great faith, but true faith, that saves; and the salvation lies not in the faith, but in the Christ in whom faith trusts...it is not the measure of faith, but the sincerity of faith, which is the point to be considered.” -Charles Spurgeon
