Respond to Others (verse 2)
1. Paul may have told the Galatians that they were free from keeping the law and it's rituals, but he reminded them that they do still have responsibilities.
2. They are to bear with their neighbors, even in their flaws, weaknesses sorrows and suffering. This is keeping with the law of Christ. (John 13:34; James 2:8).
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right.

1. Test our own actions and motives.
2. Keep a proper opinion about yourself and your work
a. Humility
b. "Your work" is the work you do with others, not your vocation. It's about how you react and treat your neighbors and your brothers and sisters in Christ.
c. We can become conceited and full of pride thinking we are pleasing God better then someone else.
d. We can start to think we don't have sins in our lives, and become busy correcting others. This is not wise (2 Corinthians 10:12-18).
We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you. We are not going too far in our boasting, as would be the case if we had not come to you, for we did get as far as you with the gospel of Christ. Neither do we go beyond our limits by boasting of work done by others. Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our sphere of activity among you will greatly expand, so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast about work already done in someone else’s territory. But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
3. It's not wrong to take pride in good work, Paul explains this in Galatians 6:4. But we must be humble.
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else,
a. Humility is being able to recognize the good you may do and praise God that He made it possible - also to be just as glad if another person does it.

1. Some might feel there is a contradiction between Galatians 6:2;5.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
for each one should carry their own load.
2. Two different words are used in the original language, in verse 2 Paul speaks of a heavy weight pressing another down; in verse 5 the term suggests carrying your load, like a soldier would carry their own pack.
3. We each have personal responsibilities that no one can accept for us (Romans 2:6; 14:2; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”
One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
4. Adam tried to blame Eve and Eve tried to blame the serpent. God held each of them responsible, however. We have personal responsibility. We must all give account to God.

1. The challenge we have when being responsible to God is that we don't get caught up trying to impress God and lose our way through pride and judging others.
2. It is important that we develop a healthy perspective of ourselves. We need to improve our self awareness.
a. Make sure you have mentors in your life that will be honest with you.
b. Celebrate when others are doing well, and take on the pain when they are not.
c. Check your motives, celebrate the wins but understand that God is the one driving the car. Give Him the credit for everything!!
d. When you fail, own it and repent.
Big Idea: The law of Christ is love for everyone. We show Christ's love through our actions, motivated by the Spirit. Jesus is the engineer of this love.
