John 1:29-34
1. The Lamb of God 29-31
A. Spotless
 Exodus 12:5
5 Your lamb shall be without[a] blemish, a male [b]of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.
B. Sacrificial
 Exodus 12:6
6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight.
C. Substitutionary
Exodus 12:23
23 For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the [a]lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
2. The Dove of God 32
God told John that he would know the Christ by the Holy Spirit descending upon Him like a Dove. This sign confirmed to John that Jesus was the ONE.
Genesis 8:6-12
6 So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made. 7 Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth. 8 He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. 9 But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself. 10 And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark. 11 Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. 12 So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.
A. Initiator
The Dove Convicts the lost of sin
John 6:44
44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 16:8
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
If you see how lost you are, if you see that Jesus came to save you, then fall down and weep and be overwhelmed with gratitude because God is doing for you what you could have never done.
B. Indweller
Romans 8:9
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
When we are born again through a repentance and faith move towards Jesus the Dove comes to live within us.
I. He Fills us- Be filled with the Spirit
Ephesians 5:18
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
II. He Seals us- sealed until the day of our redemption
Ephesians 1:13-14
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who[a] is the [b]guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
   C.  Equipper
            Acts 1:8
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [a]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
3. The Word of God 33-34
                a.  Engages us
God’s Word speaks to us personally. The Word of God is what gives us our mission and our commission.
                b.  Enlightens us
Informs us about spiritual and supernatural things that we cannot know otherwise. I know that what I have seen is true because
“I did not know Him…” but because of the Word of God now I know Him.
              Psalm 119:130
130 The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.
