Types of Prayer

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 1 Ti 2:1–2.
A. Paul list different type of prayers or channels of prayer
He list off Supplication, Prayer, Intercession, and Giving of Thanks
One of the most needed types of prayers this day is intercession
God is looking for people that he can use to intercede on the behalf of others’

Isaiah 59:16 KJVS
And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.”
Isaiah 59:16 NLT
He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him.
4. intercession gets the attention off of us and puts the focus on others
5. Intercession is praying for someone elses need, someone elses healing, someone elses blessing, its not Me focused its Them focused
6. There is a Spirit of Intercession that can get a hold of you where it drives you to deep prayer where the prayer is physical and tense, theres a burden that you are trying to release

Intercession leads to Salvation

There has been many intercessors in the Bible
Abraham interceeded on behalf of Lot
Moses interceeded on behlaf of Israel and they were delieverd from Egypt and God did not kill them in the wilderness
Joel (Joel 2:17) tells the priest to Weep before the porch and the altar
Jesus interceeded for Israel
Jesus interceds for us
Were not any closer to the heart of God when we are praying for the lost
