I. Walk in Step with the Ruach
“If we live by the Ruach, let us also walk in step with the Ruach.” Galatians 5:25
Since it is through the Spirit that we have Life, let it also be through the Spirit that we order our lives day by day.
Application: Walking in step with the Ruach is proof of our transformation and empowerment. It requires attentiveness and willingness to obey His voice.
II. Bear the Fruit of the Ruach
When we walk with the Ruach, it transforms our character and produces spiritual fruit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 humility, self-control. Nothing in the Torah stands against such things. Galatians 5.22-23
Application: The fruit is not forced—it flows from stayingconnected and surrendered to the Ruach.
III. Listen to the Ruach
When we listen to the Ruach, it changes not only our lives but the lives of others and even history.
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Ruach says. Revelation 2:17
All who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. Romans 8.14
34 Then Kefa addressed them: “I now understand that God does not play favorites, 35 but that whoever fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him, no matter what people he belongs to. Acts 10.34-35
9 Now a vision appeared to Shaul in the night. A man from Macedonia was standing and pleading with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 As soon as he had seen the vision, immediately we tried to go to Macedonia, concluding that G-d had called us to proclaim the Good News to them. (Acts 16:6-7, 9-10)
26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Get up, and go south on the road going down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” (This is a desert road.) 27 So he got up and went. And behold, an Ethiopian eunuch—an official who was responsible for all the treasure of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians—had traveled to Jerusalem to worship 28 and was now returning. Sitting in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 The Ruach said to Philip, “Go, catch up with this chariot.” (Acts 8:26-29)
What are practical ways we can do this?
1. Cultivate a listening heart (through prayer and quiet time)
2. Stay rooted in Scripture
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Tehillim 1.1-3
3. Be part of a Spirit-led community
It means you are committed to building this community of faith and actively involved. Being a part means you are committed to fellowship, to being accountable, to serving, and to encouraging others within the congregation.
4. Respond promptly when the Spirit directs you
We see the word “immediately” used in these contexts. They didn’t make excuses. They didn’t say I’ll do it tomorrow. No, they simply responded in action to what the Ruach told them to do.
Closing Challenge:
Are you walking in step with the Ruach today? What area of your life is He calling you to surrender, change, or obey?
