What Does It Mean To Be A Christian?

One thing that it means is that you have been called. What does that mean?

You have been given an identity…

               What is a thing…

               God called the light day and the darkness night…

               He brought the animals to Adam to see what he would CALL them…

               As a Christian we have an identity – we are Christians! I Peter 2:9-10

You have been given a purpose as “people from or like Christ…”

Our purpose is to live as priests (I Peter 2)

John 10:14; 20:30-31 Our purpose is to get to know God and make God known to others.

You have been called OUT of something

               Slavery – John 8:34

               Isolation – Ephesians 2:12

               Guilt and Shame – Ephesians 5:11-12

The rule of Satan – Colossians 1:13

You have been called INTO something…

               Freedom – Gal 5:1

               Fellowship – Romans 8:14-16

               Forgiveness – I John 1:7

               The rule of Christ – Colossians 1:13
