FOCUS: Removing spiritual baggage-fear, unforgiveness, and sin-to move forward freely.
Hebrews 12:1–2 “1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
What is a race? When you see those running track, who do they wear clothes that are fitting? Why are their outfits so thin?
Track runners wear thin clothes, often tight-fitting and made of moisture-wicking fabrics, for a combination of reasons: to improve performance, reduce chafing, and manage body temperature. Lightweight and streamlined clothing helps minimize wind resistance, allowing runners to move more freely and efficiently. Tight fabrics can also help prevent chafing by keeping clothing from rubbing against the skin. Moisture-wicking materials aid in heat dissipation and prevent overheating during intense workouts.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Aerodynamics:Thin, tight-fitting clothes reduce the amount of fabric exposed to wind, minimizing drag and allowing runners to move faster and more efficiently.
Reduced Weight:Every ounce of weight, including clothing, can affect a runner's performance.Lightweight clothing minimizes unnecessary burden, making it easier to maintain speed and agility.
Chafing Prevention:Tight-fitting, breathable fabrics can prevent chafing, a common issue for runners, by holding muscles in place and preventing skin from rubbing against clothing.
Moisture Management:Moisture-wicking fabrics are designed to pull sweat away from the body, keeping runners cool and dry during intense workouts.
Enhanced Performance:By reducing drag and weight, minimizing chafing, and promoting heat dissipation, thin, tight-fitting clothes can contribute to overall performance improvement.
What is a runners attitude like when he is about to race?
Throughout the bible, God depicts our life as a race. God try’s to get us to understand that Ecclesiastes 9:10–11 “10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. 11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.”
Galatians 5:7 “7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?”
Get the “Who’s” out of your life.
Romans 8:35–39 “35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” “38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
1 John 2:15–17 “15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
