Called To Unity

Ephesians 4:1-6

I. A Worthy Walk (verse 1)

Walk - how we conduct ourselves.

not a single decision, but a daily lifestyle

Worthy

in a way that honors God

Calling - divine invitation to belong to Christ and His church

not just believing the right things, but walking the right way

II. The Character of Unity (verses 2-3)

Unity doesn’t happen by accident, it takes work and maturity

Four Attitudes that Guard Unity:

Humility - opposite of pride. Consider others more than yourself

Gentleness - strength under control (meekness)

Patience - long-suffering with people who frustrate you

Bearing one another in love - putting up with people… lovingly.

III. The Foundation of Unity (verses 4-6)

Paul gives 7 great “ones” that anchor unity

One Body - Jesus Christ’s church

One Spirit - the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer

One Hope - Our shared future in Christ

One Lord - Jesus, the head of the church

One Faith - We all have the same Gospel

One Baptism - Our public identification with Christ

One God and Father - The Sovereign King Who reigns over all

Live In The Unity You Already Have
