The mature character of Christ

We serve the one, true, and living God. He is in a class all by himself, he is so powerful he thought of a world and it showed in 6 days, he’s so intelligent he made it so we that we are close enough to the sun to get light, but far away from the same sun that we don’t burn up. He’s so intelligent, he is not confined by space, time, or limitation. God is omniscient—He knows all things, past, present, and future. He understands our thoughts before we think them, our struggles before we voice them, and our needs before we know them. He is omnipresent—there is nowhere we can go where His Spirit is not already present. Whether in the heights of joy or the depths of despair, God is there. And He is omnipotent—possessing all power, able to do anything consistent with His will and character. There is no force stronger, no enemy greater, and no circumstance too difficult for Him. Tell somebody ‘that’s my God’
When we consider our perspective of the Godhead, when God could not find any of the patriarchs suitable to be the human atonement for the sins of the world because Abraham had a lying problem, Noah had a drinking problem, Moses had a violence problem, and David had too many problems for this message alone, he decided to come down and walk the Earth that he created and when you he needed a body to use he drops himself into the belly of a young girl by the name of Mary and used a name to define his assignment because the messenger angel Gabriel tells her his name shall be called Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins, the etymology of his name means ‘Jehovah saves’, and while he walks the Earth he leaves with his disciples and followers lessons and examples of what it looks like to represent his character in the Earth.
The Church has been given the responsibility to come into the unity of the faith, and to measure up to the full measure and stature of the fulness or maturity of Christ, and he has given us the 5-fold ministry, the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, to equip and edify the body of Christ, because an immature Church misrepresents who Christ is, a Church divided misrepresents Christ, a Church with factions misrepresents Christ, but a Church that learns to mature in the things of the kingdom represents Christ, but we must learn one word that is the foundation to everything Jesus did in his 3 years of ministry on Earth, and that is love. I know you were expecting me to say prayer and fasting, time in the mountains, and dunamis power, but the reality is if you have all of these experiences but lack love, then what is the motive behind your seek for the anointing?
1 Corinthians 13 gives us insight into the need for love in the administration of spiritual gifts. He says if can speak the language of men and angels, If I prophesy, understand the mysteries of God, give to the poor, have faith to move mountains, but do not have love, all of this power is for nothing. You can be the most anointed individual in the room, but your pride and arrogance can cause your gift to stay dormant and never be used, why? because you are controlling where your gift can be used based upon your inner preference.
Love controls how you pray, love controls how you intercede, love controls how you flow in your grace. Love caused Jesus to feed the 5,000, love caused Jesus to raise Jarius’s daughter, loved cause Jesus who had no sin to die for those who have sinned, are sinning, and will continue to sin, how we perceive the love of God, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Tell somebody ‘that’s love’ take 10 seconds and thank God for loving you…
And if we are wondering ‘God how do I get a burden for souls?’ ‘How do I reach the lost?’ ‘How do I operate in my gift?’ ‘How do I know what my gift is?’ Your answer is found when you learn to ask God ‘help me to love like you love’… because Godly love will cause you flow in places that don’t match your preference…… I want to rebuke the spirit of Jonah where you think you have a choice in who you minister to, but when you get serious about this love thing, you’ll have to minister to the very ones that abused you and watch them be forgiven by God while you’re still bitter. And the way you learn to love like God loves, you’ll realize loving like him means loving God and in response you love what he loves and unfortunately he loves your enemy just as much as he loves you, he loves your ex just as much as he loves you, he loves your adversary, so who are you to hold so much hatred in your heart? But it’s easy to forgive when you realize them hurting you was really them hurting God’s creation and it was never about you, but it was always about your Godly-image.
And unfortunately this same vile disposition has found its way into the Church that should be a symbol of the character of Christ. Is Christ divided, is Christ confused, is Christ broken? Then why is he a whole spirit, yet his earthly body is divided, confused, and broken. I Can I tell you why? Galatians 5 verse 15 says if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will consume one another. If we are not careful, we will become a Cannibalistic body, eating something with the same anatomy as you.
When you gossip, you’re a cannibal
When you attack their character, you’re a cannibal
When you usurp authority, you’re a cannibal
Some of us have been hurt so bad in ministry, we have turned cold to being used, and because of that, you’re more focused on what you can get when God is trying to use you to heal someone else.
Cannibalism is also portrayed as an act of survival, and could it be you have lost all sensitivity to the spirit because you’re just trying to save yourself?
2 Kings chapter 6 tells us of a time of famine in Samaria, where things have gotten so bad they are selling and eating the head of donkeys and the feces of doves. And to make it worse we have two mothers came to the king and one said ‘This woman said to me, ‘Give your son that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ “So we boiled my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him’; but she has hidden her son.”
Isn’t it scary when you are in a Church and you can no longer trust the word of your brother or sister in Christ because we’re all just trying to survive.
But I’ve got good news, for the cannibal, God can change your appetite
And if you’re wondering how, it comes through a washing of your inner man. If you want a pentecost message, here it is.
In John chapter 14, Jesus is handing off his spirit to his disciples, but in order for it to really work, he tells them in order i gotta get in you, but go over to Jerusalem and wait there until you are endowed with power,
They wait 10 days for the promise, tell a neighbor ‘the promise is still here’ and when the day of pentecost was fully come, the promise came, the fire came, the wind came, and it sat on them, and when the holy ghost sits on, bitterness has to change, when the holy ghost sits on you, depression has to change, when the holy ghost sits on you, anxiety has to change.
Let him change your appetite
And Prophesy
Let him change your appetite
And Heal the sick
Let him change your appetite
And use your gift
Say Lord, Change my appetite
