Notes
Transcript
We left off with Saul having the priest killed for giving David food and a weapon Saul also went on to kill many others including Ahimelech’s family
Verse 1 , Keilah was near Adullam at the western edge of Judah, not far from the Philistine broder.
An ephod was an item of priestly clothing worn during religious services associated with the tabernacle or temple.
Verse 14, these were not man made structures but natural rock formations that provide refuge.
Verse 16, I love this part were Jonathan encourages David to “Stay strong in the faith and Don’t be afraid”. I am both challenged and inspired to be that kind of brother in Christ to those around me. How important it is to have that person of influence in your life who will encourage you and uplift you and speak truth into your life. We all have times in our life where we need a brother or sister in Christ to help us through and God puts these people in our lives for just that reason. Be a Jonathan to your siblings and be a Jonathan to your friends because thats what we are called to do as disciples of Jesus.
Verse 19 , Hakilah was a hill in the wilderness region of Ziph , the Jeshimon is sometimes translated as “ wasteland” rather then as a place name.
