Human need: Deep recognition of our need for ancient words of reassurance
Psalm 46's structure: Begins and ends with the same profound assurance about God's nature
Central theme: Security is found in God alone

Refuge - God protects us (shelter in storms)
Strength - God empowers us (strong when we are weak)
Help - God assists us (doesn't leave us alone)

Why? Our security is in God alone, not "God plus" anything else
