What is a house?
What is a house?
Ask people about their idea or concept of a house
We all need Jesus in our home!
We all need Jesus in our home!
Luke 19 1.2
1 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.
2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.
Tax collectors were Jews who worked for the Roman Empire, collecting taxes. They were despised by the Jewish people because they charged more than what was required and became wealthy at the expense of others.
Even the ‘worst’ people need Jesus to come to their home.
You may think you have it all, but all you need is Jesus.
Does what people say about you, affect your fatherhood today?
You think that just coming to church on Sundays is enough, but your heart could still be far from Jesus.
It is necessary to overcome every obstacle to see Jesus
It is necessary to overcome every obstacle to see Jesus
Luke 19 3.4
3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.
4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way
Zacchaeus was short, but that didn’t stop him from finding a way to see Jesus.
To receive an extraordinary God, we need to do extraordinary things.
Do not let your limits keep you apart from Jesus today.
Jesus wants to come into your home
Jesus wants to come into your home
Luke 19 5.6
5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”
6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly
Have all men stand up and repeat these verses.
A house could be a physical place:
A house could be our hearts: "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
— Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
A house could also be my family: "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
— Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
When Jesus enters a home, there is transformation and salvation
When Jesus enters a home, there is transformation and salvation
Luke 19 7.10
7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”
8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
When Jesus came to Zacchaeus’ house, everything changed. Zacchaeus was willing to pay back and live differently. All the change and hope you’re longing for happen when Jesus comes into your heart, your family, and your home.
Invite people to open up a cell in their homes.
