The Counselor Comes

All right, so happy Second Sunday of Pentecost happy, Trinity. Sunday, Happy, Father's Day. I have a lot to say about fathers day, but we're going to up our game in this area today again about the Holy Spirit. Yeah, I know it's Sunday, but you really wouldn't know anything about God in the first place, if it weren't for the ministry of the Holy Spirit. And so we shouldn't linger a little bit. Sometimes always be a short trip when it comes to talk to you about God or a little bit crazy trip. If he talked about the Holy Spirit, come to a healthy biblical way of dealing with what the scripture say about, the Holy Spirit of Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit this morning.
We celebrate the outpouring of God's spirit. There's something important.

Almost, if you imagine the look on the disciples, when Jesus tells them that, by the way, this has been real But I'm leaving. Are you feeling that they've been seeing signs and wonders and miracles and heard this great teaching a scene love and Harnett for three years. Solid every day, they left everything to follow. Always changing is always throwing us new things that we haven't prepared for and sometimes you just need as I heard a little child, say, about the long time ago, sometimes we need Jesus with skin on them, you know, we need a Jesus acts in the flash to help us navigate, all this stuff, and, and end. And they called me back. Same way as you do we, how can you say he's leaving without me? And as I said, John says that their hearts were filled with sorrow when they heard this from Jesus. And it's enough to drive you into therapy, isn't it?
Guess what? You're in therapy. Every one of us are. Fortunately, the therapist is Holy Spirit. Every Christian is in counseling, we are filled with the counselor. and that's an important thing for you to Because Jesus make somas. And this little short Passage. NFL. The main point.

Probably feels like it, but this is why Jesus says the counselor with a spirit of Truth. Jesus will leave with us, is going to bring you going to bring. He has a goal in mind which is good. He has a method. I'm all counselor. And hopefully, all counselors have an outcome.
Do you want to get into an endless counseling session with your counselor coming back for 50 years and never improved? The whole point is to get off this bus and start living my life. Well, that's what the Holy Spirit came to do as well, and he gives us this counselor to counsel those of us.
The counselor rings with power. And I know that you don't believe me, when I say that much better than Jesus with skin on Jesus in The Flash, you don't believe me and they probably didn't

Come on. Really, how can you going away? Be better for us. How can not having Jesus In the Flesh, be better for us. To our advantage. It's such a small statement, isn't it? Power. And this is Our problem. We don't believe it. Every single one of us here this morning that something like this. If only Jesus were here right now, my life would be a completely different. If only Jesus Were Here In the Flesh in front of you. show me the help me to answer my prayers, to do whatever it is, that he does, if only Then I would be a different person. My life aboard would be completely.
Only I have seen his miracles with my own eyes.
I get different kind of person only. I'd heard his teachings with my own ears. I think that. Anthony heads, nodding, I know you're thinking that cuz I bought it and I'm a super Christian. I got a caller on every single one of us. Right specially. When the fur is the fan. When you're confused when you're lonely. When you're hurting, when you got a big decision to me.
It's not unnatural that. But do you believe what Jesus says when he says it is to your advantage that I go away. Now, I touched briefly on this a couple of weeks ago.
I want to point out something to you, the disciples. Got what you don't have. They saw Jesus. They walked with They saw his oily here. They saw the sweat on his brow, they smell.
Miracles with their own eyes.
They were there in the part when Jesus calms the storm, they were there by the grave when Jesus is body was gone. And yes, he's obsessed. It's better when I'm going to give to you than what you have right now. All the things that you want, they got in Jesus. Bill said, it's better that, I go away. How is that possible? I mean, really Jesus, you're pulling my leg.
what Jesus is saying to them, is this What you've experienced great needed to experience that you will be my Witnesses. You can't have spoken. What I what you need to speak without having All that I've shown. But I'm going to be more real to you. I've been right now. you're like, what, what, how can you be more real to us than in the

Because what you have right now is far far, far, far far greater. and the thing is, we don't believe it because if you did, and if I did, and you know what I mean, it means that we don't have any excuse for the way we're living. Ouch, I weather. We don't have any excuse. I know a lot of us through things in the dark. Because we don't think God is omnipresent me know he is but we don't believe he is. Not real place.
Whatever Jesus is offering is much much better than seeing him in the flash. Something is because miracle and that what that means is that most of us here this morning, I would suspect our simply living Our Lives, breaking the surface just barely
Let me think about this or what have you think about this? If you had a friend, a dear friend, they're going to turn to whenever you need to counsel, you know, that person who got them on your friends list and you ask them every time you can count on them to give you the I'll give you a good guidance. Do you know that you got that friend in me right now? Always at your weed. Always there with you. 24/7 365? No ring up a phone. No, bring up the call, you know, phone a friend thing. The Holy Spirit The Counselor is in you and that's the power but this
Something far greater than any counselor that you've ever known. Could give you. And that is his spirit and I don't think you are. I have begun to understand that yet. So that's the second thing. Look at the goal is counselor.

But not normally a good counselor, does what?

Speaks truth to that Darkness. Heels that wound. Good counselors. Slow. Deliberate purposeful a goal in mind. I know how to get to the source of your pain. Counselors goal is to get to you and speak the truth.
And sometimes that include pushing out the garbage that's in there that you believe from outside, to, from other sources to things that, you know, you shouldn't believe what you do. she was complaining about all this, is that the Didn't get it. I didn't get it. They had seen all this stuff.
I did not get it.
Barely. In Chapter 14 verse 26. Just this is a helper. The Holy Spirit from the father will send in my name. He will teach you all things and bring to your. Remember all that I have said to. you know, you've known people, I'm sure I have heard the same things over and over and And they're just like, Space Cowboy. Don't you know that family member you talked about the love of God for years and years and years with that child for years and years and years. It

It wasn't real. Boise. Abstract, but it wasn't real but then the lights come on and it suddenly real. Your light is the same way. Now you think that it's your circumstances that are the problem? It's not the information or rather it's information that you like you need more of it, you don't have enough to make decisions so we need to go find books, help you live your life.
You want your circumstances change? What is not information and it's not the circumstance, that's the problem. The problem is the truth has not clicked for you.

This is what Jesus is saying when he said that the spirits going to come and tell you all the stuff that I've been telling, you said what's going to happen. It is it's going to click for you. You've been hearing that you even experienced
Senior High. And I know a lot of us here this morning that only believe that partly true or we know somebody for who is This is the work of the spirit. This is what his goal is.
This is basically saying to them, that's what I've been telling you all these things. But the spirits going to make

Inadequate. Because a lot of people today say the same exact thing. Something oh I believe in God or I believe in heaven. I believe in all this stuff doesn't look like it. How do you know? Because if they did then they would be different. There would be far more join their lives would be far more generous with their money then, then they are they wouldn't hold grudges against people.
We wouldn't be like this.
They claim they claim to know the truth about heaven, but it isn't. And it's fun time.

Why. When you fail, does it completely upset your world? I know none of us fail in here. How to put myself in that category, but I'll tell you why. You get that one. Because the love of God, you may believe it, but it hasn't dropped in your heart. It's still superficial. You do things in the dark. Like I said earlier, why do you do that? You say you believe in the omnipresence of God that God is everywhere. Believe in his power, we can see all things all hearts are open to you in, all right? So I have to keep doing stuff in the dark like he's not watching.
And you think well, circumstances must change. I need a better spouse.
I need a better kid. I need a better job. I need something else outside to change, so that I will feel better. So that my world will flips.
So, we think it's that we don't know or not.
You don't need more information. You don't need to know, this is fat. The Bible says that's not your problem. The Bible says that your whole problem is that the information you have isn't real to you.
if you really believe what you profess, it was driven down deep in your heart. Do you think you'd be different? You think you'd be a changed person? Twenty years ago, someone said something to you that you cannot let go. In your heart and every which way you turn its grinding inside you. I just want you everyday and the Bible is full of statements about God's complete and utter love for you and you cannot let it go.
That thing is more important. You more power.
I'm not saying this is easy but this is the path.
Unless you're constantly Letting Go Holy Spirit, make God's truth real to you, then you will never change. You're just the one around. In circles. The Holy Spirit wants to get inside that place to pair out with hurting you to tear out. Was confusing what's lying to you.

That's where you got not traditional, not very common these days but some of my older friends you will know this that's how you use. Somebody was by reference to your parents, your your family.
You were doing your duty and that's how you found your identity.
Your mom.
Your mom your mom's or your mother be a mom, your son. Be a son act. Like it's right through the duty. Modern culture. However, does it look into that way, that's an outside-in approach in modern culture. We look at it as an inside him approach. You define Who You Are. You're the one who gives yourself a sense of identity, your give yourself a sense of self. Look deep inside. You find yourself, follow your desires, not familiar. Do what you most want to do. Then you understand who you are, when you truly discover yourself, maybe it's in your sexual orientation. That's what we're told is that that's your true self or maybe it's in your career path. That's your true self, or maybe it's in who you marry, that's your true self. You know, the same thing that gives you dick
There's no.
External influence, who I am. Nobody tells me what time to be on the captain of my own ship and ship it and you'll find yourself when you do your duty. So be confident in that. Suck it up buttercup. That's how you find yourself. There's no dream to follow. There's no coherent you. If there is no dream to follow,
But here's the thing.
You're mixed up messed up bag of conflicting desires. I suspect Some of you want to give up all your money. And go live in the south of France, drink wine, not now it's so hot out here. Some of us want to do that but on the other hand, we want to
Or we want to do something important in the world and we don't really care. We want to give our money to the poor.
You want? For the world or do you want to help the poor?
What day of the week is Friday? I want to tour the world. You see, the problem is finding yourself because who are you? You don't even know. You're constantly changing. Those are too young to how to do this and remind yourself that in twenty years, you won't. Do you work today? if your 40 or 50 + 20, Do you want me to?

Christianity is the only place where you will find that you want to find your true self and have to lose it. The lose, all your desires to find yourself. He says in 2nd Corinthians 4:6. God has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus. Look like Jesus. You want God to be. You can't just deal in the abstract. Look at how Jesus deals with a woman caught in a bowl.

See, the problem is. Is that his love isn't real to us. And it's the holy spirit's job. Show you Jesus to give you everything that has that belongs to Jesus. Everything that is his and make it real to you, and you can't understand that until I'm inside. But if you do,
You'll become the real. You not the one that this world and you're falling this has distorted you into
pushing on that outcome of what the spirits going to do. When you If you're giving yourself to the presence of the Holy Spirit, and if you realize that you don't need your circumstances, change is not the circumstances. Lord, it's not my lack of information. It's me.
If you realize that the main way you change is to go to him. Then that means that Christianity is organic not on a piece of paper black and white. It's living. It's like a Bonnie.

And you are comfortable being that because of God's love for you. An expectorant and you allow Holy Spirit speak into your heart. To direct your path. And the person is someone who's been touched by the glory of Christ. He says he will glorify me a 14-4. You will take. What is mine and clear to you. So when you have Jesus, you are being glorified through Jesus.

Say the goal of the Holy Spirit to make Jesus more beautiful to you. And his desire for you is that you become available.
Like him. That's what the Holy Spirit out, so that's what he's going for.
He's worthy of your contemplation, is more worthy of your enjoyment. Mickey Mouse. Meditate on Jesus. But enjoy.
