In John's Farewell Discourse, Jesus shares insights into the Trinitarian life with his disciples concerning the Spirit's coming, the Father's sharing, and the Son's glory. On Trinity Sunday, the gospel of John stresses the relational truth that connects everything to Jesus. Through Jesus, the community of believers inherits the Spirit of truth that leads them to the glory of Christ and connects them to the Father's love.

Trinity Sunday on Father’s Day
Nicene Creed (written in 325 AD)
We believe in God, the Father, the Almighty
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life
The Faith taught within Scripture reveals One God in three Persons.
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image”
Titus 3:4-6 “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.”
Matthew 28:18-19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”
The Trinity taught in the early Church.
According to tradition, Saint Patrick taught the Irish about the Holy Trinity using a three-leaf clover, a shamrock.
In Book 8, Augustine develops a model of the Trinity based on love: the Father is the Son is the Beloved; and the Holy Spirit is the mutual love they share.
The Trinity is not just a Doctrine to believe, it’s a Relationship to be received.
Jesus’ Farewell Discourse to the 11 disciples in the Upper Room taught the importance of walking in the Trinitarian Life.
Read John 16:12-15
The Trinity is relational in Himself.
The Father, Son, and Spirit know and love one another.
The Spirit listens to the voice of God and Christ.
The Spirit and Father glorify the Son.
The Father shares everything with his Beloved Son.
The Trinity is relational with its Church.
The Spirit of truth will come to the community of Believers on Pentecost - leading us to the truth (Jesus) i.e., The Truth, Way, and Life (John 14:6). That is why Jesus tells his disciples that “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12).
He will declare it to you. Refreshing their memories of the words of Christ. “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15). The Spirit is given to the Church to lead us to Christ’s teachings and that we glorify the Son.
The Son receives everything from the Father to share with his Bride, i.e., Eternal life, the Spirit, and Divine Love.
Trinity Sunday is about Living in a Relationship with Him.
“The Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).
He will lead you into all truth through Scripture and prayer. Bible reading is how we encounter the Incarnate Word through the written Word. The more we know the Son, the more we meet with him through the Spirit.
Schedule what matters most - Bible reading and listening to the Lord.
Open eyes and ears change a man's heart, bringing us closer to God's presence.
“He will glorify me, and he will take what is mine and declare it to you” (John 16:14).
The life of a Christian is to bring all the glory to Jesus, the Savior. He saves, we glorify.
As the Spirit and Father glorify the Son, we glorify Jesus when we live beyond ourselves and our own interests.
We glorify Jesus by listening to his voice.
Repenting from the sin of the flesh.
Loving the vulnerable.
Serving those of the Faith.
“All that the Father is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you” (John 16:15).
God has given us everything through our relationship with Jesus.
We possess his kingdom.
His Spirit.
His Mission.
Divine Hope for the future.
The Most Important Relationship is with One God, in Three Persons.
Let your life be fixed on the Trinity, for He has given us an eternal relationship, the glorified Son, and Divine Love that will never end. Amen
"Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen."
