Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
Lesson Six- Faith For Prosperity
Lesson Six- Faith For Prosperity
Central Truth: As born-again believers, we are redeemed from the curse of the law and are heirs to Abraham’s blessing and God’s promises of prosperity.
What is God Desire for His Children?
What is God Desire for His Children?
Jeremiah 29:11 “ For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
NASB “plans for welfare”- Shalom- Peace, prosperity, success, welfare, state of health, deliverance, salvation
Noun a contented state of general welfare
For many year I truly didn’t understand that God’s will for His Children is to prosper. I thought, as many do and teach, that poverty is a characteristic of Humility-
This is taught by many
I honestly thought that to do ministry it was always going to be a vow of poverty, and in order to be humble you had to be poor
There was a major misconception that I had in order to be righteous you could not be wealthy, and if you had wealth that ment you weren’t righteous
Was Abraham a wealthy man?
Was Israel a wealthy nation?
Was Solomon Wealthy?
Who made them wealthy?
But I thought that any blessing that dealt with prosperity and wealthy blessing only had to do with the Jewish people-
I really saw a gap in the people of God- Where the Bible says, “there is neither Jew nor Gentile” but one people in Christ (Eph 2:11-18) - I honestly thought there was a lesser group
“They are God’s Chosen people”
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,* a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”
Obviously I have learned, through the study of God’s Word, and through the application of God’s word to my life, that God is the same “Yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8
Malachi 3:6 “I am the Lord, and I do not change”
God still wants to prosper His Children- NKJV 3 John2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
Some might says, “The Bible says that money is the root of all evil.” - However this is not what the Bible says.
1 Tim 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.”
A Person can be guilty of this sin and not own a dime!
I have heard and seen a lot of people treat their own livers as if they are another Job- “Well I guess I am just another Job!”
People actually think that poor Job went through life poverty- stricken, sick, and afflicted. However, the enitre book of Job happened in a period of about nine months, and the Last Chapter says God turned Job’s captivity.
Job 42:10 “When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!”

AMP “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
Understand when the thieves broke in and stole Job’s possession- that wasn’t God’s plan- that was Satan at Work
When the Fire fell and burned His Crops- He was in captivity to Satan
When the Storm came and knock the house down on His Children and they died, that was satan
When Job became sick with boils from his head to his feet- That was Satan
When His wife turned on Him and told Him to curse God and Die- that wasn’t God- but Job was in captivity to Satan
BUT GOD TURN JOB’S CAPTIVITY
If You think you are another Job, That means that you will be one of the richest men around- Because God has turned your captivity!
You will have twice as much as you’ve ever had before
You will be healed and live to be old
(Job lived one hundred years after the events recorded in the Bible)
If you are just another Job, God can and will turn your captivity, and you will prosper!
Redeemed from the Curse of the Law
Redeemed from the Curse of the Law
But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.
And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
These Scriptures tell us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law- What is the curse of the law?
You can find the curse of the Law in the first five book of the Old Testament called the Pentateuch, or the Books of the Law.
The Pentateuch shows us that the curse, or punishment for breaking God’s law is threefold:
poverty
sickness
and the second death
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of poverty
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of sickness
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of death
Spiritual death now, and physical death when Jesus comes again
We don’t fear the second Death in Revelation
Abraham’s Blessing:
Just as the curse is threefold in it’s nature, so was Abraham’s blessing:
material- financial blessing
Physical blessing
Spiritual Blessing
The New testament Scripture 3 John 2- agrees that God wants us to prosper in all three areas
Material
physical
Spiritual prosperity
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Many people are under the impression that any promise in the Bible for material blessing and prosperity refer only to the Jewish people
However, this verse was written to the New Testament Christians
the Word “Jew” is a short term or nickname for “Judah”
The Israelites were never called the Jews until after the split of the tribes.
Judah didn’t have any more promise of material and finacial blessing than the other tribes of Israel.
They received or inherited the blessing through their father Jacob
Jacob received it through His father Isaac
Isaac received it through His father Abraham
IT WASN’T ISRAEL’S BLESSING IT WAS ABRAHAM’S!
AND THAT IS THE BLESSING OF GALATIANS 3 AND THAT IS MY BLESSING!
Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.
The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God.
If We are born again Christian (John 3) then we are “The real children of Abraham” and Gal 3:29 “And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children* of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.”
Kenneth Hagin- “After these scripture became plain to me and I saw what belonged to me as a Child of God through faith in Him, other Scriptures began to open up to me. Everything belongs to God and is at His disposal.”
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
God created everything; then He made man, Adam, and gave him dominion over all of it.
God made it all for Adam
He gave him dominion over the cattle on a thousand hills, over the silver and gold, over the world and the fulness thereof
This is stewardship
Some would would say - “In other words, Adam was the god of the this world”
little g god- ruler

2 Cor 4:4
The expression ‘the god of this world’ may be understood in two senses: (1) the god who rules over this world11 Louw, Johannes P., and Eugene Albert Nida. 1996. In Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament: Based on Semantic Domains, electronic ed. of the 2nd edition., 1:143. New York: United Bible Societies.
But Adam committed high treason and sold out to Satan- Thus Satan became the god of this world
Jesus however, came to redeem us from Satan’s power and dominion over us
For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
ESV- “For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness e reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.”
The Amplified “For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”
We are to reign as kings in this life- That means that we have dominion over our own lives.
We are to dominated and not be dominated.
Circumstances are not to dominate us- We are to dominate circumstances
poverty is not to rule and reign over us- we are to rule and reign over poverty- being generous
Disease and sickness are not to rule and reign over us- we are to rule and reign over sickness
WE are to reign as kings in life by Christ Jesus, in whom we have redemption
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:
Your towns and your fields
will be blessed.
Your children and your crops
will be blessed.
The offspring of your herds and flocks
will be blessed.
Your fruit baskets and breadboards
will be blessed.
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
you will be blessed.
“The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!
“The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
“If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways, the Lord will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do. Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you.
“The Lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them. If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. You must not turn away from any of the commands I am giving you today, nor follow after other gods and worship them.
The First part of Deuteronomy lists the many ways the Lord would bless His people if they would obey Him
He promised to bless:
Their Children
Their Crops
their cattle
He Promised to bless and protect them in battle
He promised to make them have “prosperity” and bless their work or all they set their hands to
The blessing was all inclusive, but it was also conditional
they must keep all of God’s commandments.
They must be a Holy poeple, not straying from Him and seeking other Gods but serve Him with all their hearts
The Remainder of the Chapter starting in verse 15 and going through verse 68, lists the curses that would fall upon His people if they did not keep His commandments.
The Truth to see here is that prosperity, material and spiritual, that God planned for His people, (Not just the jews) he has planned ever born again believer in Christ who is an heir to this promise-
This should lead us to great Joy
You have been redeemed from the curse of the law, from poverty, and Abraham’s blessing is yours
it is mine!
WE as Christians need not suffer finacial setbacks; we need not be captive to poverty or sickness!
God has provided healing and prosperity for His children if they obey His commandments
When Jesus was here on earthe He said (Matt 7:11), “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
How many parents want our children to go through life hungry, sick or afflicted, never having enough to get along?
No parent wants that - In fact, we work and sacrifice to try to help our children get a better education than we had so they can make a better living than we did.
God put all the cattle here; all the silver and gold-
is it reasonable to think that He did all of this only for the ungodly?
He most certainly loves the sinner- but does He love the sinner more than His own Children?
No! God put all things here for His people.
He said to Israel in Isa 1:19, “If you will only obey me,
you will have plenty to eat.”
ESV- If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land
If God wants to His children to eat the best of the land, He wants them to have the best cars, businesses, houses, clothes-
The best everything
Proved Through Personal Experience- (JONATHAN SHUTTLESWORTH - DON’T DESPISE SMALL BEGINNINGS) Kenneth Hagin
“ When this truth became real to my heart, the Lord spoke to me and said, ‘don’t pray for money anymore. You have authority through my Name to claim prosperity. I already have put gold, silver, and cattle on a thousand hills for my man Adam, and I gave him dominion over it. After he sold out to Satan (Esau and the birthright), the second Adam, Jesus Christ, came to redeem your from the hand of the enemy and to remove you from the curse of the law. Now, instead of praying that I would do it, because I have provision for your needs, all you need to do is say, ‘Satan, take your hands off my money in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.’
You see you never believe for the possible; you believes for the impossible
“I was supposed to be in this church for just a week, but as it turned out, I was there ten days. I claimed $200 for these ten days. The Pstor did not beg for money at all; he simply passed the offering plate and when the offering was counted I had $240.
After that When I would go into churches to hold meetings, finances came in easily, and many times the pastor would say in amazement, ‘that is the biggest offering this church has ever given to an evangelist.’ and I amde no strong pleas T ALL. I HAD THE KEY THAT UNLOCKS THE DOOR!”
PRIASE GOD WE ARE NOT UNDER A CXURSE, BECAUSE JESUS HAS SET US FREE!
DECLARE:
“FOR SICKNESS I HAVE HEALTH, FOR POVERTY I HAVE WEALTH, SINCE JESUS HAS RANSOMED ME!”
MEMORY VERSE:
3JOHN 2 (NKJV) “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
Lesson in Action:
James 1:22 “but be doers of the word , and not hearers only…”
