Set Your Mind on Revival

Intro of the Night

Psalm 85:6–7 ESV

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.

We are here becuase we want to Set our Mind on Revival. - want to encourage to worship how you feel led tonight - There are intentional spaces for that.

Colossians 3:1–2 ESV

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Question: Do you have Faith that God can change hearts | That God can break Chains | That God can bring Revival |

Jesus - Came to Earth | It should have been a celebration, the Messiah had come, especially in their home town - However, no one expects Miracles on their doorstep. No one expects revival where they are - It was the same for Jesus;

Luke 4:24–27 ESV

And he said, “Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land, and Elijah was sent to none of them but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.”

Elijah couldn’t find any men of Faith in Isreal - Had to go to Zarephath where God performed a miracle for a Gentile.

Same thing in days of Elisha - People had lepers in Israel, but couldn’t find a man of faith.

What is Faith?

Trust + Intellectual Agreement.

Do we know and trust the Lord?

Do we know and trust that God can make a way tonight?

We are going to sing a new song tonight - It’s called When Wind Meets Fire.

Part of the Song says;

Our God is consuming fire Our God is a holy wind Whatever You speak is done Whatever You touch will live

When Jesus is having a conversation with Nicdoemus about being born again - He talks about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

In OT the HS landed on people but never dwelled within people - Jesus says;

John 3:8 ESV

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

This is Jesus explaining to Nicdomes, that the Holy Spirit is the one that changes hearts toward God, who is here to convict the world of our sin, and point us toward Jesus.

In Hebrews the author says;

Hebrews 12:28–29 ESV

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

The song also says;

This is the moment when wind meets fire Come on in Our hearts are burning for fresh revival Blow again

We aren’t asking the Holy Spirit to be POURED OUT again, we aren’t yearning for a second pentacost, we are however, yearning for the Holy Spirit to move here amongst His People, to bring Fresh revival to our hearts and to our Region!

After Solomon had just built the Temple - The Lord made a promise, that I believe is still relevant for us today |

2 Chronicles 7:12 ESV

Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

We want our house to be a house of prayer, because we know that Prayer moves the heart of God.

2 Chronicles 7:14–16 ESV

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.
