God has called us all to be Examples

1 Timothy 4:12, ESV

Let no one despise you for your youth(age), but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Age is never a restriction when God is leading us.

Noah was 500 when he started to build the ark

Noah was 600 when the flood came.

Abram didn’t have child until he was 100

He was promised at 75 (already to old) and it took 25 years for it to happen

he got tired of waiting and took matters in his hand, messed up, caused problems

Still God used him, gave him a son, and allowed him to be the father of many nations

David was between 13 and 16 when he fought Goliath right after being annointed king.

We make Age an issue, but God makes age a tool to bring Him Glory.

What Does this have to do with Fathers day ?

I have found that many Christians, many partents, and Christian Parents in the church, who feel that it is to late for them to be a good Christian Example to their children.

AGE IS NOT AN ISSUES Turn to the other IT’s Not To Late

For Fathers Day, let us look at What God has called us as fathers to do and model

Ephesians 5:25–6:4, ESV

25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body.

As Fathers We are Called To Be An Example

One of the greatest things we can do as fathers is to show how to respect honor and serve or wives.

This means, for me to be the best example for my son, I must make my Wife comes first.

I won’t disrespect her

I don’t go behind her back

I respect her, He will respect her

I Chose to Love Her

I protect her

ALL SO HE LEARS TO DO THE SAME

31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband

We Are called as Father to Serve

To Hold Fast is to Join together, To be Glued together

What I do, I do to serve her As Christ served the church

I love her as I love myself,

We as men are wired to respond to respect.

when we feel disrespect it hits us hard

we loose a little of our selves when we feel little respect.

Emerson Eggerichs did a study of 7000 people and found

83% of Men feel disrespected in their marrage

73% of women feel unloved.

Men, We can not demand respect when we are hesatant to show love

WE MUST SHOW LOVE FIRST, Then LADIES will feel that love and her response will be respect

NOW WOMAN, You must do all in your power to Respect and support your husband.

Look to your Husband and let Him know how much easer it is to respect him when you see you are loved.

. 6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

We Are Called as Fathers to Discipline

Proverbs 13:24 (ESV) Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

Discipline should come out of love and only love

Hebrews 12:11 (ESV) 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Discipline is about acting now, so that later it turns in to righteousness.

We can’t only focus on the right now, but as what is this going to teach down the road.

We Are Called as Fathers to Teach

Deuteronomy 6:6–9 (ESV) 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

We look at the world today, we see how bad it has gotten

it didnt just get this way over night.

I have spend much time in prayer and asking God why the world is like it is today especially here in America

I feel his answer to me was this

We had to many generations of Sunday Christians, and no enough ALL the Time Christians.

WE Stopped reading the Bible at home

we stopped praying and home

we stopped worshiping at home

EVEN Worse

We have had to many generations of christians acting holy and all for God on sunday but when the car door closed after church, the holyness went out and we were a completly different person.

The children saw this, and discovered that the faith that they are being taught was just a act or a show and from on gen to the next lost more of it.

We have done the same thing seen in the Book of Judges and we are seeing the same walk away of God.

HOW CAN WE FIX IT ?

Ask for forgivnesses

from God

our wives

our children

Repent

Turn away from what we have done

and Doing what God has called us to do

Restart

Reach out and be the example starting now

Read the Word of God

Pray

Worship

Cover your family

BE the example

REMEMBER ITS NOT TO LATE.
