Introduction

If you have your Bibles, you can take them and open them to Daniel chapter 11. This morning we continue in this last little series of the book of Daniel “The Final Vision”, making it to what is a far more detailed vision of what is described in Daniel chapter 8. Our focus this morning turns back to four major Empires: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Although the vision itself focuses on several historical events that get us to Rome, I do not want us to miss a key detail in this story though, and that is why this morning our key word is going to be “sovereignty”. The word sovereign simply means complete authority, and in this case, it is that God has complete authority over the past, present, and future. In other words, there is not a single thing that happens in the timeline of creation that does not go without God’s allowance. Daniel chapter 11, with all of its prophetic detail serves as a reminder that the God we serve is in complete control of all things, because he is the one with complete authority. So if you will, stand with me as we read Daniel 11:36-45.
