The White Wedding Dress
The White Wedding Dress
At some point in your life whether is has already happened or in your future getting married will be a decision you will make.
And when you make that decision a great campaign will be launched.
Women: Locations will be picked, flowers, cakes, food, bridesmaids dresses and the brides dress.
Guys are figuring out how fancy he has to be. some are hoping that jeans will be an option. Probably also hoping that you have enough friends to be groomsmen and when you find out you don’t you’re hoping that your cousins can come and if everyone can or willing to get off from work.
Revelation 19:7–9 “Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself. She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.””
There is a wedding coming. and the Lord has picked out his brides garmets.
Ephesians 5:22–24 “For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.”
1 Peter 3:1 “In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands....
1 Corinthians 7:4 “The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.”
1 Corinthians 14:34–35 ....They should be submissive, just as the law says. If they have any questions, they should ask their husbands...
Colossians 3:18 “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord.”
We either keep preaching wishing or believing submit submit submit! but we fail grasp the symbolism of marriage the bible uses to describe our relationship with Jesus.
Isaiah 54:5 “For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.”
Hosea 2:19–20 “I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord.”
Ephesians 5:25–27 “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.”
Submit:
1.accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person.
1.accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person.
If we are to be the Bride of Christ at some point we have to submit His authority.
He is El Shaddai: God Almighty
Jeremiah 27:5 “With my great strength and powerful arm I made the earth and all its people and every animal. I can give these things of mine to anyone I choose.”
Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary Authority, Divine Authority
All authority could be characterized as either intrinsic or delegated. Intrinsic authority is dominion one exercises because it is innate in that person or inherent in the office held by that person. Because He is God and Creator of the universe, God has sovereignty and dominion over all things. Only the triune God has purely intrinsic authority. Delegated authority is given from one who has intrinsic authority to one serving in an office or carrying out a function. Delegated authority is not in itself innately or inherently authoritative; it is authority derived from one whose authority is intrinsic. All authority is properly God’s. All other authority is derived from Him.
Control is about might; authority is about right. Control means that God makes everything happen; authority means that God has the right to be obeyed, and that therefore we have the obligation to obey him.
Colossians 1:16–17 “for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”
Daniel 2:21 “He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.”
God creates or gives authority as needed to complete his will.
You will not receive authority until you submitted to authority.
What Christ did on the cross gave him victory over over death and when you submit to that authority you receive salvation .
This is sadly where most people stop.
Men in here today we need to understand that we cannot stop here.
We find out why in definition 2
2.subject to a particular process, treatment, or condition.
2.subject to a particular process, treatment, or condition.
Because if you stop you can be very dangerous
Now you are apart of a Kingdom.
James 1:8 “Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.”
A partial submittal takes you down a road God does not intended for you to travel.
Deception- the Devil knows scripture and can twist it.
Legalism- You believe what your told by people.
Church Hurt- You thought you were going to find perfect people but found people one step in front of you that are bound in deception and legalism.
Matthew 18:18 ““I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
That’s very dangerous
Proverbs 18:21 The power of life and death are in the tongue.
See you may not have known that before.
Titus 2:3–5 “Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.”
We have to be taught how to be a bride.
What is this called? Discipleship
We have to be submitted to discipleship .
Matthew 7:22–23 “On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’”
He never knew them
Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
So what’s the next step?
3.present to a person or body for consideration or judgment.
3.present to a person or body for consideration or judgment.
Matthew 28:18–20 “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””
This is the moment that the Disciples went from being disciples to being apostles.
They graduated
The Apostle- a man a man appointed by the risen Christ to teach about him with authority.
Matthew 10:1–4 “Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. Here are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (also called Peter), then Andrew (Peter’s brother), James (son of Zebedee), John (James’s brother), Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew (the tax collector), James (son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus, Simon (the zealot), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).”
These are people who have been given Christs authority.
Mark 16:15–18 “And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.””
The signs will follow those that believe.
We must graduate to be those messengers in Christ
So we have to work and be deligent. Grow ourselves up in the Lord so we can teach and excersise Christ authority for his Kingdom.
As Fathers and mothers We must learn submission so that we can teach the next generation how to be.
Because submitting as Christ’s Bride is what is going to get us to the wedding.
Closing
At some point the bride will stand before the Groom
Will you be a bride wearing white?
I dont mean and condemnation for anyone.
The truth is the marriage to the Lamb will only wear white. and covered in his blood.
