CONNECTING WITH GOD
Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
SOURCES OF STRESS:
A. UNCONTROLLABLE CIRCUMSTANCES
B. UNCOOPERATIVE PEOPLE
C. UNEXPLAINABLE PAIN
SURRENDERING TO JESUS MEANS:
I. LETTING GO OF CONTROL
Let go ⸤of your concerns⸥!
Then you will know that I am God.
I rule the nations.
I rule the earth.
II. LEARNING TO BE CONTENT
I am not telling you this because I need anything. I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens. I know how to live when I am poor, and I know how to live when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of being happy at any time in everything that happens, when I have enough to eat and when I go hungry, when I have more than I need and when I do not have enough. I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.
III. LAYING DOWN MY PLANS
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
IV. LEAVING THE FUTURE TO GOD
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
