Welcome & Opening Words

On behalf of the family, thank you for gathering here today. We’ve come together in this sacred space to honor and remember the life of Jim Crank. Though this is a moment of sorrow, it is also a moment of gratitude—for the love shared, the memories made, and the legacy left behind. As we stand at this final resting place, may we find comfort in one another, hope in the promises of God, and peace in the presence of the One who walks with us through every valley.

Scripture Reading or Reflection

John 14:1–6 NIV
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Prayer or Moment of Silence

Father God, We gather in this sacred moment to lay to rest the earthly remains of our beloved Jim Crank. Though we grieve, we do not grieve without hope. We know that you have already prepared a room for him and he is there right now with you. We entrust Jim into Your eternal care, confident in the promise of resurrection and the life everlasting. Surround us with Your peace, comfort us with Your presence, and help us to live in the light of Your love until we are reunited in Your glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Eulogy or Shared Memories

One or two people may share stories or reflections. You could also invite brief open sharing from those present.

Committal of Ashes or Burial

And now, we commit this body to its resting place; and we commit the spirit, O our Father, together with every sacred interest of our hearts, into Your keeping; praying that You will deal graciously and mercifully with each of us, until we too shall come to You in glory, through the riches of grace in Jesus our Lord.

Closing Words & Blessing

Now the God of peace, that brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, our Great Shepherd, through His blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever.
Amen.

Optional: Music or Song

A favorite hymn, instrumental piece, or recorded song can be played to close the ceremony.
