Are You Fat?

Proverbs 11:25

“The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”

A liberal soul is referring to someone that is open to allowing God do with them whatever He wants.

Proverbs 13:4 KJV

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Diligent is referring to someone that carefully examines every detail.

Proverbs 28:25 KJV

He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Trust is referring to someone that depends upon God's Word as the final say.

Genesis 4:4 KJV

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

"Fat" is part of the 1st offering God accepted

I guess you could say FAT is where it's at!

Let's take the word fat and make an acrostic so we can find out the answer to the question: Are You Fat?

I. F - FAITHFUL

Proverbs 20:6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? Who is faithful in God's economy?

A faithful worshipper.

II. A - AVAILABLE

Who is available in God's family?

A praying Christian is available. Ananias in

Acts 9:10–11 KJV

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

A staying Christian is available.

1 Peter 5:10 KJV

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

A believing Christian is available.

Philippians 4:13 KJV

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

III. T - TEACHABLE

Who is teachable in God's church?

A saved person is teachable.

John 16:13 KJV

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

A sanctified person is teachable.

Psalm 143:10 KJV

Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

A soul winning person is teachable.
