Truths to remember throughout our lives

Notes
Transcript
Ephesians 2:8–10 “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Lose your life…find it in Christ 5

~ Saved vs finding life in Christ…Christ didn’t make it possible to find one without the other, I am afraid that sometimes we do.
~ Life more abundantlyJohn 10:10 “10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Do your best 4

~ All things as excellence unto the LordColossians 3:23–24 “23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
~ Compete to win the prize1 Corinthians 9:24 “24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.”

Don’t worry 2

~ Peace that passed all understandingPhilippians 4:7 “7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
~ Walk by faith not by sight2 Corinthians 5:7 “7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Forgive yourself 3

~ Remembers our sins no moreHebrews 8:12 “12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”” Isaiah 43:25 “25 “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.”
~ No condemnationRomans 8:1–2 “1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”

Perfection is not on the table, stop beating yourself up

~ All have sinnedRomans 3:23 “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”   Romans 3:10–12 “10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.””

Seek His face not His hands 6

God has a plan for your life, pursue Him and He will take care of the plan.  Don’t pursue the plan
~ Seek first the kingdom of GodMatthew 6:31–34 “31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
The most marvelous ingredient in the forgiveness of God is that he also forgets, the one thing a human being can never do. Forgetting with God is a divine attribute; God’s forgiveness forgets.

You are loved 1

~ For God so loved the worldJohn 3:16 “16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
~ Loved you with an everlasting loveJeremiah 31:3 “3 the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
~ Nothing can separate usRomans 8:38–39 “38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ No condemnation…Romans 8:1–2 “1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
When we start to understand this we better understand Jesus and Peters conversation. Jesus just wants to talk about do you love Me, not the failure.
We have to be pursuing Him how the bible says.
