Rev. 3:15-21
Rev. 3:15-21
One commentary said this.
spue thee out of my mouth—reject with righteous loathing, as Canaan spued out its inhabitants for their abominations. Physicians used lukewarm water to cause vomiting. Cold and hot drinks were common at feasts, but never lukewarm. There were hot and cold springs near Laodicea.
Have you become unknowingly lukewarm? Its not the most popular of questions, but yet it remains a very high value question that all of us as believers need to ask ourselves now and then. I guess this is my first not so nice and fun sermon pastor. Lets just see if i can add to my haters lol.
In all seriousness I fully believe this is what I am led to speak on today.
I’ve got 3 points for this one, so just grin and bare it. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!! And Jesus says you have to love me too lol....moving right along.
Self Sufficiency
Self Sufficiency
I read a quote that said “Self-sufficiency is the fatal danger of a lukewarm state.
We have become more and more self sufficient as time has gone on. The modern day world has touted being all self sufficient as some kind of supreme goal. But, can i tell you that the Word say to rely on God. Step off that high horse and come back to reality. You need God the father, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. Period with 3 exclamation marks! Self help books and strategies may help for a time but can do nothing for you soul. Those will mean nothing in eternity. Don’t loose sight on the fact you are a eternal being. This life on earth is temporary. The devil is the one that has made all the hype about the here and now. Live your best life movement is gonna send a multitude straight to the devils hell.
Prov 3:5–6Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Jer 17:7–8“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord. “For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.
Ps 37:5Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Ps 46:1God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Prov 16:3Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.
John 15:5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
Ps 55:22Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
Ps 62:8Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Isa 26:3–4“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. “Trust in the Lord forever, For in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.

Do you look like the world or the Word?
Do you look like the world or the Word?
1 John 2:15–17Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
James 4:4You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
Col 3:2Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Phil 3:20For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
1 Pet 2:11Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.
2 Cor 6:14–17Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. “Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.
Titus 2:11–14For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
Matt 5:13–16“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Rom 12:1–2Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Eph 5:8–11for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
