All Kinds of People Come Looking for Jesus. (v.7-8)

Jesus continues to fulfill the promise given to Abraham, that in his offspring, humanity would be blessed.
References to the people gathering from outside of Israel speaks regarding the impact of the Gospel.
The spread of the message speaks to the deep need in humanity, longing to be whole, though never finding what will satisfy.

Jesus Does Something Different This Time. (v.9)

The text shows a slightly different approach to the large crowds looking for him.
This is a way to accomplish two distinct goals. One, His time to be the sacrificial offering is not yet come. Two, Jesus is not giving himself over to the people as they want him.
Jesus calls people to know their God as He is, not what they think God might be.

Jesus Gives An Answer to the Issue at Hand. (v.10-12)

Many are healed from the afflictions of their broken humanity, physical illnesses.
Many afflicted by demons have the evil spirits driven out by Jesus. Jesus commands the Demons to keep quiet, even.
The demons are rebuked, as their knowledge of him as God’s Son, given at the wrong time, would lead people to carry out their version of salvation.

Key Question: Who is Jesus Christ?

The Good Teacher: One who teaches with authority, but does not have access to my heart.
The Miracle Worker: One who heals, delivers, and astonishes masses, but has no impact in my understanding of holiness or transforms me from within.
The Creator and Savior of the World: The God incarnate whose life leads me to holiness and a transformed existence leading me to eternal life.
