Breath is for Life for being under God's authority.

Background

2 accounts?
Gen 1 Cosmic Universe and characteristics of God - Why He did it.
Gen 2 Eden Story & who (but not a step-by-step manual)
To me, there seems to me to be some slight difficulties that I don’t understand.
But the Bible was compiled over the course of 1,000 years.
No profit corrected this.
Jesus corrected a lot of theology, not his.
Reaffirms how
Spits in the mud and heals the blind man - reinforcing the close touch of God.

Hook - So God Created, but Who is this God and What does he want?

This is the history of X

= 11 times
Heavens and Earth vs Earth and Heavens
Humans as an untainted seed.
Details or big picture - His weakness is loving us..…

LORD = Yahweh - a named God.

The God who created the Heavens and the Earth. Is the God of (The Bible) humanity and the God of Israel.
The World
The Garden
The God of Adam and Eve
The God who promises to restore humanity
The God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob
1 GOD

Vs 5 & 6 - show the partnership between God and humanity.

Humanity has Authority (Gen 1:26-31) and Gen 2 is under Authority
The world ready has abundant life, but God hasn’t sent the rain
Rain is the manifestation of God’s Care and Provision
God's provision is intended for those under His authoity
The amount of water is uncertain. You can see this in the different translations: mist, river, spring, flood.
God knows when to send the Care and Provision.
He won't overburden you - Lotter
Tillage and cultivation are only good if there is rain.
This is the partnership model God put in place.
What does this mean to us?
I am asking God, and He is not answering.
Bible reading?
Have you done what he last asked you to do?
Are you staying under His authority?
Bill - go back and ask God again.
Alone?
Marriage doesn’t solve loneliness. - Divorce comes from loneliness.
Are you giving God and his bride your attention?
God will send the care and provision when the people can have authority under his authority
I overestimate my self-control and underestimate God’s timing.
Lotter
Whatever you are praying for, the best prayer is Give me Eyes to See and Ears to Hear.

V7.

The thin space between physical (dust) and spiritual (breath of God)
Dust = humility and dependence
Formation
Spiritual Formation
Prayer, bible reading, and church participation
A reason we struggle with this is that we don’t understand our physical formation.
Hands-on approach
Kneading of doe
PlayDo
Potter
Intention & Craftsmanship - crafting the pot.
God gets his nails dirty and becomes personally invested in humanity
Pots are always fragile and designed for a purpose.
David:
Psalm 139:14 “14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”
You are Royal, with Authority and Fragile

Breath of God

Dirtbag kissed by God
Animation from outside this world
You can’t make yourself breathe
You can’t hold your breath and die
_ a new layer of irony for the kiss of Judas
_ At times, David used his rule for the good of himself and others
Psalm 8:4–5 “4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? 5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.”
God values others and breathes into them - He does the same for you and them.

The most overlooked downpouring of God care and provision is your breath

Breath - Living person - Life and Animation

Closing

Genesis 2:7 “7 Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”
Abraham Genesis 25:8 “8 and he died at a ripe old age, having lived a long and satisfying life. He breathed his last and joined his ancestors in death.”
Isaac Genesis 35:29 “29 Then he breathed his last and died at a ripe old age, joining his ancestors in death. And his sons, Esau and Jacob, buried him.”
Jesus Luke 23:46 “46 Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.”
John 20:22–23 “22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Authority under God’s authority.

The breath of God is for Life.

Today we need the Breath of God to lead us into life - via the forgiveness of Sins.
God could pour out so much more - But I really think we need to get forgiveness right.
You have authority and are under authority.
Can we start using our life/breath to be agents of the Rain God wants to pour out?
2. YHWH - creator and savior is about life
Jesus gives us life; let's be a part of His Downpour of Rain on Humanity.
3. Your life can be an agent of bringing more life
You have always been created for fostering more life!
