Churches here were established by Paul and Barnabas on Paul’s first missionary journey.
Imagine living in a prison where the doors are wide open, but you’re still sitting inside, shackled by invisible chains. It sounds like a contradiction, right? But for many people, this is exactly what life can feel like. They have been set free by Christ—
spiritually
freed from sin, guilt, and death—yet they still live as though they are imprisoned by old habits, fears, and doubts.
Paul could claim freedom because:
He surrendered to Christ’s call on his life.
He seized Christ’s sacrifice for his life.
Here’s the gospel in a nutshell:
Jesus gave Himself – voluntary, sacrificial love.
For our sins – substitutionary atonement.
To deliver us – not just from guilt, but from the grip of this fallen world.
According to God’s will – this was the plan from the beginning.
And what’s the response? Worship.
3. He surrounded himself with active Christ followers.
4. He sought to make God famous in his life.
