Save Me Lord

Psalms 54:1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers, Saints of God, and to this bereaved family. As we glint gleam and gaze at this glorious text, I see a picture of salvation in the first verse. And family put your trust in the Lord. This was Shirley’s favorite scripture. And it starts off with a glimpse of Salvation. I’m sorrowful about the passing of the Great Mrs. Shirley Shy.…

We all loved Shirley to death, But saints of God and to this bereaved family God Loved her best. And in order to get to eternal bliss and felicity we all must pass this way. The bible says for it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgement.

Let’s read the text again in Psalms 54:1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

Saints of God once again death has invaded the ranks of our Christian community. And this hour of the day has come and Our hearts are hurting but our Spirits have hope and where there’s hope we can experience Godly healing for our hurts. Because if Psalm 54:1 was Shirley’s favorite scripture then you just have to read it and believe it. The word of power says in Psalms 54:1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

Family Friends and Folks assembled Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal. Turn it over to the Lord.

I can’t stand here and profess to know how you feel, but as your pastor, I feel your hurts and pains too because I loved Sis Shirley Shy and for me and this is a hard pill to swallow. And I asked the Lord for strength to be able to preach this final sermon this parting eugolgy and this farewell message. And I heard the Lord saying to me , Allen tell em that “I’ll never leave you nor will I ever forsake you.”

And I heard this right down in my spirit-man when tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me. I wish so much that you wouldn’t cry the way you did today; While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I Know how much you love me as much as I love you; and each time that you think of me I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me Please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. She said my place was ready in heaven far above; and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye; For all my life, I’d thought I didn’t want to die. I had so much to live for My children grand children great grand children great great grandchildren, it seemed almost impossible to leave them behind; but the angel said tell the family it’s ok because I’m with the Lord and I’ve changed my address to heaven. Somebody said What’s the address” and I imagine him saying It’s at 12 Gates to the City Hallelujah Avenue in New Jerusalem, Heaven 77777. And if you want to see me again,2x make sure you know the Lord in the pardon of your sins. And family when tomorrow starts without me don’t think that we’re far a part because I’ll be right here with you in your heart. And the church said Amen.

Psalms 54:1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

I see 4 major things in this theme

1. Save me, The words Save and then me used together can means a lot of different things, Because to the unchurched when you say save me they can easily say I don’t need saving or rescue me from what ain’t because nothing is going on with me.

Rev Save me from who because I ain’t go there at night with that 10 to 2 crowd no more. Lastly Save me from my self. Because beleive it or not sometimes we need saving from our own selves And the Lord will save to the utter most Because if we’ll be honest about it all the bible says In my flesh dwells no good thing. All kind of stuff runs through our minds sometimes.

The Phrase Save Me implies that it’s something personal And so I looked it up and the original word is the word yāshaʿ Everybody say yāsha. Yasha means to save to deliver to defend, to rescue to help to preserve and then most of all it means victorious salvation. And let me tell us this, God didn’t save us so we could be miserable no no no we have victorious salvation in Jesus because Jesus came that we have life and life more abundantly. ATCSA.

#2. In Psalms 54:1 After the phrase Save me, the bible says O God , Oh God. IN times like these we ought to say O God, In the Hebrew vernacular the Word O God is Elōhîm is the description of The God head plural, What on earth does that mean? The God head plural means One God in three persons Bless the trinity. It’s got God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost equal in every divine perfection. And how does this apply to me now. Rev Allen Because It is in Him that we live we move and we have our being. Oh yeah O God is a present help in the time of trouble. Wherever you need Him Oh God is there

Oh God is Alpha and then Omega That means that Oh God Alpha is at the beginning of your problems and O God Omega sees the end of your problems before you get there.

O God Means that God is a burden bearer. And Shirley knew to turned her burdens over to the Lord. and Shirley knew that O God is the bridge that crossed her over the troubled waters in her life to Glory land.

Family “The Phrase O God carry you through the rough days ahead O God told Jesus to tell us that that Holy Ghost will be our Comforter who keeps company with us when we are all by ourselves. ATCSA

And when you read this Psalms 54 text in it’s entirety and you see how David pleads his case before the Lord, then we find it very fitting to say OH GOD!!! Help us today!! Yasha Eloihim Save us Today Lord.

And let me humbly honest I’ve never attempted a funeral sermon form the Psalms 54 text before but I saw the Hope of Salvation in text.

And so the third clause in Psalms 54:1 is by thy name.

#3. By thy name The bible says that there is no other name except the of Jesus where by men must be saved.

By thy Name. Somebody in here battling some demons now and you’ve got to say get behind me Satan in the name of Jesus. Somebody’s struggling with sickness and disease but I heard Peter and John say Silver and gold have I none but such as I have give I thee that at the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk and the cripple man got up, stood up , and leaped up shouting and praising God Somebody in here wondering about the next job but you just need to call on Jehovah Jireh the Lord our Provider. and God will open up doors that’s been closed in your face BY Your Name Lord.

Somebody struggling with peace of mind but you just need to call on Jehovah Shalom The God of Peace . Because the bible says when you have your mind stayed on the Lord He’ll give you perfect peace.

Lastly I heard Sister Shirley Shy say Lord I’m tired and Jehovah Rapha took care of vit for her. Jehovah Rapha is the God of all healing. And I’ve learned now that sometimes death is the greatest healer. ATCSA.

Next the text teaches talks and tells us in the d clause “and judge me by thy strength. David the writer of this Psalms is saying that I’ve got enemies everywhere. A brief history of the story tells us that David was hiding out with the Ziphites and somebody went and told king Saul where David was hiding. And can I tell you something that’s why sometimes you can’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing or it will cut it clean off. believe it or not but you’ve got haters baby. They just hate you because when you walk in a room heads turn. That ain’t your fault that you good looking they the one that’s got a problem. Some people can’t stand to see you look like you prospering even though you’re struggling just like every body else. Some of us want to keep up with the Joneses but we don’t know the hell the Joneses been through to get to where they are now. ATCSA. i’m just trying to tell why David wrote Psalm 54. He had enemies and he asked the Lord Eloihim Yasha to save him from his enemies.

And judge me by thy strength. this means that the rubric and the assessment tools and the evaluating tools we try to pull out to measure somebody’s life don’t meet the criteria that Jesus the Righteous Judge has. Because Jesus the Righteous Judge, the Great Shepherd of the Sheep Judge can see that we are guilty and will dip our black souls down in His red blood and wash our dirty sins white as snow Ain’t God Alright.

And judge me by thy strength.

When God judges our sins by His strength he casted our sins behind his back When God judges our sins He covers our sins that they can’t rise in this world our the world to come. When God judges our sins He throw they in the sea of forgetfulness and you can’t find a record of my wrong doing Thank you Jesus.

Saints of God we have a loving Father that as Psalms 54:1 says will Save us, O God, by His name, and judge Us by His strength.

And Heaven’s recorders says in Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

I can hear Shirley saying Lord save me When it’s His to call and mine to answer Lord I’ll be some where listening for my name. Sister Shirley Shy’s name was written down in the Lamb’s book of Life a long time ago. She been had her business fixed with the Lord.

So family don’t you worry about Shirley because She’s gone to a better place. The bible says in John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

And that a clear sign that Paul was right when he said absent from the body means to be present with the Lord.

Shirley was a good mother The Poem Mother says We lost a mother with a heart of Gold How much we miss her can never be told. She shared our troubles and helped us along, if we follow her footsteps, we will never go wrong.

We miss her from her favorite chair,Her loving smile and gentle air. Her vacant place, no one can fill, we miss our Mother, and always will. She was a Mother so very rare, Content in her home and always there. On earth she toiled, in Heaven she rests. God Bless you Mother, you were one of the best. And brothers and sisters She deserves her heavenly rest. because the Apostle Paul saith in 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

We all loved Sister Shirley Shy and I miss her already and it’s hard to bid her farewell but tah I’ve got to close here today um um um. And so as I leave you here today it is more than fitting to say um um that a soldier of the Cross has gone on home um um um . Yes. Let me close with this story. Lawd and.

Once upon a time yes there was a woman, um um um who was beautiful inside and out. and one day she had a visitor Oh Lordy .

And He said I’m and angel of the Lord and the woman said why are you here Sir? um and the angel said I’m here to tell you that your years, your months, your days, your minutes and your seconds have all numbered by the Lord. Um um um yes.

And some years later the angel came back and the woman said Mr. Angel why are you here again, and the angel said your years your months, your days, your minutes, and your seconds are all numbered by the Lord, and then he said so make sure you have your business fixed with the Lord when it’s time. Um Um Um.

And then in the woman’s golden years the angel came back and said It’s time to pack up and move out of here. um um um Oh Lordy And

On the other day I heard the angel saying Sister Shirley Shy your favorite scripture was Psalms 54:1 where you asked the Lord to “Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. Um Um. The Lord heard your prayer and said

you’ve fought an good fight you’ve kept the faith and you’ve run your last race, Oh Lord therefore there is a crown of righteousness laid up just for you.

Yes and I heard Sister Shirley saying “I’m going home!!! to be with the Lord. Yes She said I’m joining the Usher Board and the heavenly choir

Great God and Shirley said they gave me a long white robe that fits me so nice. um um They gave me some golden slippers and they feel good on my feet And Sister Shirley quoted David again but from Psalm 55:6 this time . She said “Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

I heard Sister Shirley saying Some Glad morning when they Life is over I’ll get my brand new wings and I’ll Fly Away, Fly Away, Flyyyy Away and be at rest. She said I’m going where the wicked shall cease from troubling and the wearied shall be at rest.

Oh Lord She resting in the arms of Jesus

And One of these old days 1 One of these old days when the Lord call your name will you be ready..

If you know you will Say yeah Say yeah Say yeah .

I want to hear the Lord says Servant! 4x Well Done!!!!
