Restoration

📖 Text Setup: Jeremiah (esp. chapters 13 & 30–33)

Israel was chosen as God's people — they had Yahweh on their side, their ultimate source of power and victory.

But over time, Israel cheated on God — the language in Jeremiah is raw: marital betrayal, spiritual prostitution.

They've broken the covenant, and from all appearances, it's gone too far.

And yet—God responds with a promise of restoration.

💬 “Even though you've betrayed Me, I will restore you.”

💥 Restoration Is RADICAL

God doesn't just say, "I'll forgive you."

He promises to turn you from a prostitute to a virgin bride — a complete, impossible restoration.

At the time, this made no sense… but we now know it was a prophecy of Jesus.

The restoration wouldn’t come through power, but through a crucified Savior.

💬 “They expected a king to overthrow Rome. They got a lamb who was slain.”

🔁 Personal Story: Business, Approval, & False Restoration

At 17, you dropped out, moved to AZ, chased success thinking it would bring acceptance.

You sacrificed: family, emotions, friendships, everything—thinking it would lead to restoration.

But deep down, you were operating from insecurity, not identity.

You wanted God to restore you, but on your own terms.

The more you tried to earn love through grinding, the more disconnected you became from who you were.

💬 “I wanted restoration, but I wanted it my way—not God’s way.”

🧎🏽‍♂️ The Turning Point

It wasn’t discipline or hustle that restored you.

It was surrender. God restored you by bringing you back to Him, not by giving you the version of success you thought you needed.

That’s true restoration.

Point 1: Restoration takes honesty

God is not interested in a false us, he created us and knows our inmost thoughts.

He is the living embodiment of truth, approach him in that spirit

Honesty is Emotional

Are you mad? are you sad? are you afraid?

Honesty is situational

are you in a situation you can’t get yourself out of, do you need his help

Honesty is void of Pride

We don’t need to have it all figured out, it’s okay to be desperate for a move of God

Point 2: Restoration takes intimacy

Intimacy has always been the plan

from adam in the garden, to friendship with abraham to The vail tearing open God has ALWAYS wanted intimacy with his creation

He did not die on a cross for an email relationship

are we not a bride?

A lack of intimacy is what lead to the problem in the first place

The closer we Get to God the less likely we are to stray off the path

How Intimacy has changed me

Point 3: Restoration takes surrender

True restoration is not getting what you lost, it’s getting what you needed, and only God has that

POV: what Israel thought they need and I thought i needed vs what I actually needed

Surrender is Hard, it feels impossible

GO emotional we need to give it to him, I’m a walking testimony
