Hearing God’s Voice

NLT Isaiah 66: 5 Hear this message from the LORD, all you who tremble at his words: “Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. ‘Let the LORD be honored!’ they scoff. ‘Be joyful in him!’ But they will be put to shame. 6 What is all the commotion in the city? What is that terrible noise from the Temple? It is the voice of the LORD taking vengeance against his enemies.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saint of God. In this day and time, hearing God’s voice may be challenging because of all of the chatter that out there these days. And what I’ve discovered In all of my 65 years is that I’ve found that it’s not always the loud noisy thunderous sounds that makes me know that I’m hearing God’s voice.

Sometimes it’s the small still voice, Sometimes it’s a whisper, and Sometimes it’s a gentle breeze across my face. And Church you’ve got to learn to take out quality time with God so He can talk to you.

And Some people think this is ludacris and absurd and even down right neurotic or crazy to think that you’re actually hearing God’s Voice, but I know it’s real!

I was in a deep deep sleep and the Lord in a vision or a dream, go to Isaiah 66: and when I did I didn’t get nothing! I didn’t get nothing out of it. Then I went and cut the field to beat the heat advisory and after I finished cutting the field at 8:30 am the Lord said go visit the text again.

And this time I saw it, Right in front of my eyes. And can I say something to you, Sometimes the right stuff is right in front of your eyes. You just have to ask God to show it to you.

The KJV says in Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. 6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

And further research The NLT says it like this

5 Hear this message from the LORD, all you who tremble at his words: “Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. ‘Let the LORD be honored!’ they scoff. ‘Be joyful in him!’ But they will be put to shame. 6 What is all the commotion in the city? What is that terrible noise from the Temple? It is the voice of the LORD taking vengeance against his enemies.

Then I went to NCV and it says it like this

5  You people who obey the words of the LORD, listen to what he says: “Your brothers hated you and turned against you because you followed me. Your brothers said, ‘Let the LORD be honored so we may see you rejoice,’ but they will be punished. 6  Listen to the loud noise coming from the city; hear the noise from the Temple. It is the LORD punishing his enemies, giving them the punishment they should have.

Then NIV says it like this

5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: “Your own people who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy!’ Yet they will be put to shame. 6 Hear that uproar from the city, hear that noise from the temple! It is the sound of the LORD repaying his enemies all they deserve.

The ESV say it like this

5  Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: “Your brothers who hate you and cast you out for my name’s sake have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy’; but it is they who shall be put to shame. 6  “The sound of an uproar from the city! A sound from the temple! The sound of the LORD, rendering recompense to his enemies!

The RSV say it like this

5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: “Your brethren who hate you and cast you out for my name’s sake have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy’; but it is they who shall be put to shame. 6 “Hark, an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the LORD, rendering recompense to his enemies!

I’m making the case like a lawyer for the Lord and for His people. And So what is God saying to us today..

#1. That He’s On Top

Look at verse 1. “This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place?

God says Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool does it look like I need you to do anything for me? 3x This speaks to the ubigtious nature of God. God is beyond any of our internal or external situation circumstances conditions or scenarios that may show up in our lives.

Then in verse 2 God says “ My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the LORD, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.

The Good Lord is looking for a people that have an humble spirit yeah 3x. And people that have integrity and honesty and dignity and righteousness in their character.

Listen to me when presenting one’s self before God. We’ve got to consider who we’re standing in front of. God is Sovereign and Awesome, and Incredible, and Amazing, and fantastic.

And God is not He’s my dude or my dog, He’s my Savior. Sometimes we try to lower God down to our standards. But Saints of God we need to try to come up to God’s will God’s way and the work of the Lord. ATCSA.

And then consider that we ought to tremble at hearing God’s word.

David said thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

Again David said Lord thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Then In the Book of Ezra the priest stood up and read the word from the morning to the evening and everybody stayed standing and nobody left and they were in Awe over God’s Word!!!

When was the last time that you were excited about God’s Word.

The true essence of the behavior that we ought to have towards God’s word ought t be trembling and fear.

Because God said in the NLT “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.

Then verse 3 We ought to mine our manners before God.

Some people think that you can do anything before God and it doesn’t matter But God says in verse 3 from the NCV says

#1. “But those people who kill bulls as a sacrifice to me are like those who kill people. That means that everything about the way they are doing it, is wrong! #2. And Those who kill sheep as a sacrifice are like those who break the necks of dogs. That means that they’re so far off kilter until they actually think they right.

#3. And Those who give me grain offerings are like those who offer me the blood of pigs. And for a Jew to say that they offer the blood of pigs to God!!! Lord have mercy Jews don’t eat no pork!!! It’s an ABOMINATION unto God. Some body say Say it ain’t so Rev.

#4. Lastly “Those who burn incense are like those who worship idols.” God says When they burn frankincense, no matter how good it smells, the Lord says that they’re making time, taking time, and using up precious time to bless an idol god.

And the Lord says in the last part of verse 3 These people choose their own ways, not mine, and they love the terrible things they do.

In other words the bible says that there is a way that seems right unto a man but the ways are unto death. They love what they do but it’s dead wrong.

I was awaken out of a deep deep sleep and the Lord told me to turn to Isaiah 66… And I knew it was out of my depth. I knew it was beyond my comprehension and I knew it surpassed my natural cognitive abilities. I knew it was above my head!.

But I’ve learned a thing or two after going to college and seminary. If you put God first!!! yes sir 3x The Holy Ghost will lead and guide you into all truth and righteousness. And and and “Never anticipate the failure of the Holy Ghost.” God meant for you and I to get this message. ATCSA

God wants Us To Hear Him 3x

Look at verse 4 from the KJV it says “I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

That means that every child of God has an ear to hear. That’s why the bible says in the book of Revelations “he that has an ear to hear let him hear what the spirit of the Lord says to the churches.”

People know when they are doing wrong stuff and God says I’m talking to you, I’m telling you, and I’m teaching which way to go but some of y’all choosing stuff that I the Lord do not delight in.

“Have you noticed when you do something that the Lord told you not to do.. Things go wrong and then that still small voice tells you I told you not to do that. 3x

Now I’m going to get “Up Close and Personal”

Somebody say Oh Oh Look at Verse 5 because this is the verse that awakened me out of my sleep. It says

“Hear this message from the LORD, all you who tremble at his words: “Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. ‘Let the LORD be honored!’ they scoff. ‘Be joyful in him!’ But they will be put to shame.

When you first start out as a Christian you don’t expect that all those old saints are going to turn on you. But sometimes they do.

When you first starts out as a Christian you don’t expect your ride or die true blue friends to throw you under the bus, but sometimes they will. Oh but this last one hurts the worst.

When you’re first starting out as a Christian you don’t expect your close kinfolk to turn their backs on you when you need them the most, but baby sometimes they will.

The bible says in this fifth verse “Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name.” And what’s worst is that they’re talking about you to other people behind your back. And the Lord will fix it so that you get to hear what they’re saying about you.

Then lastly in verse 5 from the KJV the bible says “Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.”

Ain’t nothing good about this. Because some people will make out that they’re for you, and you believe it !!!! because they’re close kin, and that’s your worst sin.

And this means that you need to ask God for the spirit of discernment. Because everybody that talk a good game isn’t in the game for you. Yes indeed

Then verse 6 tell us that God sits up high and He looks down Low. That means that “Things are about to get better for you”.

Isaiah 66:6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. “Things are about to get better for you”.

What the devil meant for bad, God turned it around for your Good. And Listen, All those other voices talking and spreading them lies on you, on the church, and on its members is an awful shame. They like to gossip, there’s so much gossip going around. Jesus Christ! it sickeneing.

I tell people don’t call me and ask me to talk about our members whether I like em or not. Because my momo say if they talking about somebody you, then sooner or later they talking about you to somebody else too. If it haven’t happen to you yet just keep on living.

I found this one verse that tells it for any of us who has been left out, shut out, put out, pushed out, thrown out, or hurled out and If you have been a victim of prey by the mighty Psalm 7:1 will help you. It says “O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

I’m so glad that the bible is filled with encouraging scripture that let’s us know that if we’re going through a hard time that we are not alone. And that there’s hope in the text that things are going to get better for you.

Lastly The Voice of The Lord

The exegesis of this 6th verse should be in the form of a question.

What is all the commotion in the city? Wait 3x I’ll tell you It is , it’s the Lord on His way to whoop em up for whooping up you. Next question “ What is that terrible noise from the Temple? Oh I’ll tell you, you can’t do God’s people dirty and think ain’t nothing going to happen back to you. The bible says touch not My anointed and do My prophet no harm. The noise is God coming through the house sweeping it clean and setting His house in order against wickedness.

Then lastly the bible says “It is the voice of the LORD taking vengeance against his enemies”…

Saints of God you don’t have to get em back for doing you wrong. Because the bible say vengence is mine saith the Lord I will repay every man or woman according to the fruit of their doing. I’ve been lead to this text to teach talk and tell us what the message is to the church in 2025..
