What do I need to do to become a Christian? What do I do and need to know and what can I learn later?

Who is God?

The God of the Bible is a God who is beyond our ability to comprehend. There is no one and nothing that compares to Him. The Bible is primarily God’s way of revealing Himself to His creation in a way that the created could come to know, love, trust and follow Him. The Scriptures reveal Who God is and the way we were created to live in relationship with Him.

Memory Verse – Deuteronomy 6:4–5 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

Why do you think the declaration of God being “our God” is so important?

What difference does it make if God is one god among many or if He is the only one?

Jesus’ response is so simple and so important. What does God want?

Love Him and love others! Jesus says that if you get these two commandments you will get all the rest. Why is that?

Love the LORD your God. Commandments without relationship never work long. You can trust God’s love for you. You can trust God’s will for you. Since He created you, He knows what is best for you. God does not want obedience without relationship. We all know what it is like to do something because we feel like we do not have a choice but to do it. God wants us to love Him with all of our being. Heart. Soul. Mind. Strength. Nothing is left out. What is it like to want to please someone because you love them? That is the kind of relationship God desires for us and that we need. To love Him with everything and in every way!
