Faith is the key to living Righteously

Victory Begins with being made Righteous-
What is the greatest threat agaisnt mankind?
It isn’t nuclear war
it is bad politicians
It is sin and the Wages of sin
Romans 6:23 NLT
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Death reigns in peoples lives because of Sin
But Righteousness leads to blessing
Proverbs 12:28 ESV
In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.
John 10:10 AMP
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

1. Righteousness is received by Faith

Habakkuk 2:4 ESV
“Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.
Faith is the key that unlocks everything , and it creates the new creation reality in our lives!
If you don’t have faith in Jesus and the completed work on the cross you cannot live the New Creation life
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Galatians 3:11 NLT
So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Faith in Jesus is the Key to unlocking righteousness from God
2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
NKJV 2 Cor 5:21
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Romans 3:21–26 NKJV
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
The Law and the prophets both testified to Jesus- and that righteouness can only come through faith in Him
Psalm 32:1 ESV
Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Jesus Cause us to live a blessed life
Ephesians 1:3 NLT
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

2. Righteousness live by Faith

Hebrews 10:38 NLT
And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”
WE don’t turn from the promises of God
Abraham- Romans 4:18-22
Romans 4:18–22 NLT
Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous.
He Hope against Hope- This means that even when everything spoke agains the promise of God he held onto the promise!

3. The Righteous Walk by Faith

This means we continue in Faith-
We stay in the lane of Faith- No matter what comes as an obstacle we continue in faith.
2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Imagine standing at the edge of a large, open field. You’re blindfolded. In front of you is a winding path that leads to a beautiful destination—but you can’t see it. Now, someone you trust—someone who sees the full layout—is standing beside you, whispering instructions: “Take a step to the left… now walk forward… slow down… step over.”
You can’t see the obstacles. You don’t know the exact way. All you can do is trust the voice guiding you.
That’s what it means to walk by faith. You may not see what’s next, but the Holy Spirit does. The more you obey His voice, the further you’ll go without getting lost or stuck.
Walking by faith doesn’t mean walking blindly—it means trusting God’s vision over your own.
The Hymn “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” says, “Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand.”
Romans 8:14 ESV
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
The Righteous are led by the Spirit-
they might not see what lies ahead, but the Sprit guides them on paths of Righteousness!

4.The Righteous Speak Words of Faith

Romans 10:8 ESV
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
The Word of Faith
Matthew 9:19–26 ESV
And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples. And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well. And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went through all that district.
There two types of people in this story -
1. The woman who said “If I just touch the hem of His Garments, I will be healed”-
She had great faith
2. the crowd that laughed at Jesus
Lack of faith
“the Hem of his Garment”-
Malachi 4:2 NLT
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.
the word for wings is kanap-

As an extension of the usage “wing,” kanap signifies “extremity.” The seam or lower part of a garment was known as the kanap.

“Healing in the Hem of His garments”

5.The Righteous live by the Help of Lord

Hebrews 13:5–6 ESV
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

What is that great attack on our Faith?

James 1:6–8 ESV
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
It is double mindedness
“Yea i believe god heals, but i don’t know about this.”
“I believe God provides, but i don’t know about me.’
